it all depends on wat kind of conditions u drive it in...if u drive it summer-winter,i would suggest u clean it every 3-5k or even maybe change the filter after 10k miles..

Dont let it go any longer than 10k. you can buy a K&N cleaning kit at ANY autoparts store. Use that and DON'T go crazy with the oil.

Same question with the GMPP - and since it's non-oiled (right?) do you have to buy the $35replacement filter every 25k miles?

Because I have an AEM, I'm going to clean it when the CEL goes off.

No. You just have to buy a cleaning kit for it. Should be 8-10$.

10k is a bit premature isn't it? these things should be good for almost 2 times that no? especially with the initial pre oil. and please do not use a lot of that oil stuff. they tell you to use enough to see it all get red i wouldn't even use that much a single light coat all around is good

I thought the point of the K&N and other types like it is that you don't have to change the filter every 5-10k miles... if you're doing that... get a cheap-o paper brand and don't waste your money.

I cleaned the K&N on my ol' Ranger once... after it'd been on there for 25,000 miles. I'll probably ditch this cheap-o filter and the whole airbox mod sometime this spring and go for a full CAI... it'll have been on there about 10,000 miles by then.
