I called a dealership there gonig to give me a GM stage 2 tune for a hours worth of labor $, is that ok with a 60# and a 2.6? what eles will I need? do I need new plugs if I do what gap should they be at? do any of you reccomend a different size pulley? buying the smaller belt isent a problem. so give me advise!

You'll need the smaller belt, plugs, possibly a tensioner as well (some do, some don't), and you'll need a tune.

you will need a gm stage 2 belt you will not need a tensioner unless you want to go smaller. I have no belt slip. You will want to tune with HPTunners make sure you have supporting mods for the 2.6. Exhaust, and cooling, wideband

yeah gm stg tune is only good for 42lb injectors.. won;t work good at all and flood with that setup. also I would recommend the ZZP adj tensioner and gm stg II belt. or else you will get 0 boost and a **** load of belt squealing

It will definalty hurt the car, car will most likely go "boom". You need to be HPTuned to run the 60's.

i differ on the tensioner you can if you want, I have had no belt squeal and hit 20lbs all day long with no slip. and I run a 2.6 gm stage 2 belt. Yes I would recommend it but you can run without any problems

Without my tensioner on with the 2.6, I had belt slip. Your not the only that I have heard of who hasn't had any issues without the tensioner though. It must be one of those "hit or miss" things.

you can probably do the pulley before you go just do not go really hard on boost. The injectors i would do upon arrival.

I'd recommend the ZZP pulley, thats the one I have and it was a perfect fit, no snout machining needed. And I wouldn't put the pulley or injectors on your car until you get to where you are meeting Doc to tune it.

Doc, some redline newb and I just did a 2.6 ZZP kit install. Yes you have to machine the snout, yes u will get belt slip without an oversized tension or adjustable one with the smaller belt. Takes a while to machine the snout as well so keep that in mind, its a pain in the ass.

Im curious to how the dealership was going to give u the stage 2 tune when you need the code from the stage 2 kit.

On the adjustable tensionser thing... the belt stretches after a while.. I got away with it for like 2.5 months and then I started loosing boost... put on the adj tensioner and all was good again.
and on the ZZP pulley.
sometimes it fits with no machining (2.6) but if the snout is out of round (like mine) you need to sand it down in areas... I've done 6 2.6 install and only 1 needed to be machined (mine) and the others needed minor sanding.
