Warranty question

I have 35,593 miles on my car now which is a 2005 SS S/C. being that it's an 05 I have just the basic warranty. I don't have the new 100,000 mile warranty and I don't even know if it applies to Cobalts now but anyway when I hit 36,000 miles do I lose the warranty for everything? Whats the 5 year/60,000 mile warranty I've heard of cover? This my first new car and in the excitement of the first few weeks I lost some of my imformation packets.

Once you hit 36000 you lose your warranty on everything except emmissions components. Federal law requires that those carry a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty.

It is actually a 60 year 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty that you are thinking of, but you must of purchased it when you bought the car for it to apply. Sorry dude, but you are out of luck. There are independent companies that you can purchase warranties from though. I can't give you any links, but do some research on it.

05-06 Cobalts have a 3yr, 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty and a 5yr, 60,000 mile powertrain warranty.

From what I've been told is that anything that does not directly have to do with the car moving is not covered.

Like the power steering pump or the ABS going out would NOT be covered.
But if you bust a valve spring it would be. Get what I'm saying?
