trading in my 2.4L for a 2.0L s/c?

Ya I'm thinking of trading in my 2.4L for an s/c.. A sweet 07 with polished wheels black in colour.. Funny thing is the insurance is cheaper on the s/c then my 2.4L??!! I'm on a lease also but am willing to suffer the consequences.. But man is that s/c sweet and I looooove black cars Now as I was leaving a saleman was looking at my car with some customers and he was wondering why I would trade as I guess to his understanding is that the 2.4L is the better motor, I guess its been tested up the wazzo and is proven very well!? Anyways we'll see when they call what my payments are gonna be? Last time I checked $500 a month but that was financed too.. Any comments welcome, just be kind

Do it!! I couldn't believe how much cheaper insurance was on this compared to my Colorado truck. I guess they don't realize how fast this car is....fine by me though.

I should have bought a 2.0L S/C instead.

If I could upgrade without getting complete screwed on payments, I would probably do it.

If you have such an opportunity, do it.

Not knocking my 2.4L, but if I had known I was going to get back into modding then I would have started with an already F/I platform.

the 2.4 is probly the better base platform if you ar looking for more power when the turbo's come out for the 2.4 the SS/SC is going to be the underdawg considering the motor the the turbo would go on. the only draw back to the 2.4 turbo is that you will need to add intercooler to keep things cooled down and the turbo kit isn't gonna be cheap!
But with the SS/SC you get that "WINE" and damn does it make you grin from ear to ear!!!! Good luck you'll love the SS/SC if you like the 2.4!!!!

Don't gimme that you got a white one at least!!!!!i would sell my soul to the devil to get a white one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we get the tuner market going on the 2.4 I'm sorry to say the SS/SC might be lost in translation IMO Love MY 2.0 but just have to wonder besides the 2.4 was also made for other platforms like the malibu the 2.0 has no other applications as of yet!

thanks, ya I was lucky to get a ride in Jekyl's s/c and I know its highly modded (now owned by Larry, sorry Larry forgot your online name) but when I heard that s/c whine I was hooked.. And regarding the turbo for the 2.4L is way outta my league and price range I'd rather mod out a s/c.. Don't get me wrong the 2.4L is great but as usual I screwed myself by not getting a car that I truly wanted.. And I'm talking about colour, Kaisoboy (Larry) if you want to trade cars let me know as he owns a black s/c..

Geez I'm high maintance and hard to please

I traded my 2.4 in for the SS/SC... and I'm loving every minute... I got 0% on the SS/SC so payments didn't really suffer at all.

My 2.4 was my first ever new car/4 banger/tuner car. I was very new to the scene and now I really wish I had gotten the SS/SC.

^ ^ ^ I'm paying $200 a month for my 2.4 SS. IDK $500.00 does sound steep.

$500 sounds like 0 down on a 48 month with about a 7.5% rate, which isn't bad. If you lease the thing, do whatever you like.. though I'd always encourage anyone to go to the end of their obligated contract as it can negatively impact your credit.

I agree the 2.4 will be the superior platform in the end. For those that own, you can do the whole custom turbo or s/c thing for likely less than you'd get raped by the bank for trading in neg.

i'm guessing he has negatuve equity...

but 500 a month works out to be 30,000 on a 5 year loan... that's a hell of a lot for a ss/sc...

i was thinkin about this too.

the main reason for getting my 2.4 was the fact that it was a nice looking affordable, fuel efficient car. i was planning on some light mods and such. and also, its an automatic. also pretty inexpensive.

now that im into the field of modding and stuff, i kinda wish i got a manual and the s/c. i think i could afford it too, i got a dollar raise right after i bought it.

but there are times im glad i have an auto. id rather not learn on something like the s/c anyway.

i was lookin at an orange s/c but i would have gotten molested on the trade in. its just not worth it. camaro is right around the corner anyway

thats the way life is. enjoy ur 2.4 now and in a few years there will be plenty of other cars to choose from.

did you try calling around to other dealerships to see what they can do for you? i m looking at trading my LT for the ss s/c next friday. i m having to put a large deposit down because of my negative equaity! but i was told that GM is offering $1000 rebate for all trims of cobalts. might be something you can ask about!
i should have gotten the SS s/c 1st but i didnt want it at the time, but now! grrrr. but i waited a year, made my payments and now i m getting my ss s/c! something to think about, might need a little more time in the end., keep hoping though!
