4pt harness and harness bar help
i know your not supposed to ask for help in this section but theres nowhere else this fits...... i am putting in 4 pt harnesses as we speak and i have the C/A harness bar..... in the pic on their site it shows the belt wrapped around the bar but i dont see how thats supposed to work,,,,, right now i have my belts going to the back seats and bolted into the studs for the rear seatbelts.... is the harness bar supposed to have the belts wrapped around it? or just run the belts over the bar so that they go straight back and not at 30deg?

I am not sure of the style of your harness connections. I know that my crossbar had tabs welded on so the belts connected just behind the seats at shoulder level.

wrapping your straps around the bar seems wrong because of the play from sliding on the bar. What are the harnesses instructions saying? Is there a diagram? (my rci's had a bad pic but it helped)
my friend wrapped his belts around the bar but he added another bar where he wrapped it around so the belt couldnt slide side to side. whatever you do, DO NOT link back down to the rear seat area. You can cause way more damage to yourself in an accident if you do.

the bar does not have instructions its from c/a if that says anything, im kinda dissapointed cuz it was all smashed up in the box when i got it and said package recieved damaged, they also charged my dads card and forgot to include shipping so cancelled his order and told him right before xmas

if he goes aroudn the bar and down to the floor he'd probably be alright as far as accident wise goes but i wouldnt trust it. either weld on a tab or a small hoop so that the belt is wrapped around and tightened it wont go side to side
ya same here looks like this will be sitting next to my L3 fenders i bought from them that have been sitting in the basement for 10 months.... i dont have a welder and wouldnt trust doing it, plus i shouldnt have to that bar wasnt cheap (price wise)
sry to vent this just sux, everything on my car had to be fukd with or modified to fit in which is cool but i want something to just go right for once, there is alwats something that goes wrong with my car when i do sht to it... the past 2 days ive been trying to drill the fking screw out of my Bpillar for my old seat belt because the tech at GM over tghtened it way to much when replacing it before, i bought a compressor and airgun still nothing, breakerbar with my 235lbs fat ass on it and wouldnt budge

You can mount the harnesses to the floor as long as you have a harness bar. It is neccesary that the belt not excede more then 30 degrees up or down when it comes off the seat back. After that, you can do whatever you need to with the harness. Its actually common to run the harness over the harness bar and then down to the rear mounting points for the front seat.
Go to this site: http://saferacer.com/seha1.html
Scroll down until you see the harness installation PDF. Its everything you ever need to know.
BTW i hope you didnt buy a cheap harness. Always stick with a name brand, RCI, Simpson, G-Force, or Sparco. FIA or SFI cert always!!

thanks for the help, when i go to viewe the pdf file though my browser crashes o well.... but heres where im stuck now.... where is the best spot to mount the bottem/lap belt..... i have one going to a hook where the old seatbelt used to mount (right under the door) and one under the seat, my top straps go to the back seat but its a far stretchwould i be better mounting straight to the floorboard if i drive a loop hook through it with a bolt under the car?
ok herers my plan..... Run the belts over the bar then down to the floor.... im going to drill 2 eyelits behind each seat into the floor and bolt it up from underneath then cover with silicone to prevent rust and sht.... the lap belt will mount to the body of the car in one part and then the inner most lap belt will mount between the seat bracket and floor
