stud too big for Shorty antenna I bought...

Not sure if this is the right spot to post this.. Please let me know..

I bought a shorty rubber antenna on Ebay and the stud on my 07SS is too fat for the Antenna and the adapters that came with it. So I email them and say that the antenna doesnt fit my car. So they tell me to unscrew the Stud thats on the car and put screw in one of thier adapters and the antenna will fit.. Does this sound right? does the stud unscrew?
wanna ask b4 I go strippin things...Please help a n00b...

Please tell me what you decide to do. I've been waiting for a good stubby option for a bit now and didn't want to be the first to get in your position .

^^ No it won't. The 05 and 06's are 6 mm, the 06 1/2 and 07's are 7 mm, that's why it won't fit...
I have heard the dealer sells a 7 mm shorty, I'd assume all model 07's have the 7mm - but idk.

Wow the search feature blows! I remember a thread where members were saying they fit a Corvette antenia on thir Balt's a few even posted pics, the antenia came to almost even with the roof line. I searched but I couldn't find it sorry. I'm not sure what years Vette it was from.

Sorry and good luck.

I just bought the corvette 8" and it bolts directly to the existing antenna stud.

I believe I have identified the source of your problem...

www.shortyantennas.com the original and still the best. Available in many styles and colors... screws right on... no problems... and dosen't look like a "walkie-talkie" antenna.

Or you can cut the stocker and put the tip back on... you can also get one of the shorty's for the C5 vettes... looks decent as well.

Ah, sorry not sure if it would fit your car. Mine is an early 06.

I'm not sure if this is a fix or would work. I parked my car at a mall and someone broke my original antenna off my car (Fockers). They actually broke the stud so I had to replace the antenna piece with the stud inside the fender. I bought it from the dealer for around $19.00 CAD here in Calgary. So, if you want the Corvette 05-06 shorty $19.95 US + fender mounting hardware $19.99 CAD your total is not all that bad if it is a direct swap to the 07s. I would take it as only the stud size is different. (shrug).

Just a solution.

Cheers
