Any 07 Cobalts getting a CEL code with AEM CAI?

I should be getting my AEM CAI soon, just wanted to know if anyone is getting any CEL codes from the 07 Balts with a CAI?

I had one on my Sunfire with no problems.
Just got to remember to

- Taking off the MAF sensor, put it into sandwich bag while doing the install, then put it back on afterwards

- AEM has a dryflow filter so it shouldn't throw any codes

- Before starting the car, unplug the battery for 30 mins, then plug it back in.

Other than that I don't think I should see a CEL code.

But what do you all think?

Maybe due to the K&N filter oil getting on the MAF?

How "protected" is the AEM CAI intake in our front bumper?
Is there any shielding below it, or can the filter see the ground?

<--------has an '07 Cobalt SS 2.4
<--------has an AEM cai
<--------has a CEL
<--------also has a cat-less downpipe/aftermarket header that are also throwing the CEL though

Back when I had just the AEM cai, the CEL would come on every now and then, but usually no longer than a day, and then would dissapear for long lengths of time. Mine caused no problems. I love my AEM!

The 2.4L and the AEM intake are not a good idea, we took off the 2.4L application on the AEM intake, as it was designed for the 2.2L cobalt. When the 2.2L cobalt intake is put on the 2.4L it causes a CEL. Injens intake for the 2.2/2.4L does not cause a CEL.

AEM states that the 2.2L intake should not be used on the 2.4L

Unless AEM came out with a intake just for the 2.4L

I have an ss/sc and the splash guard protects my filter, I have an K&N CAI,

I would imagine the 2.2/2.4 are protected by the splash guard too.

with HP Tuners, this simple CEL would be taken care of, and AEM's intake works perfectly. I've had my AEM cai on since October, and when I had only it on, the CEL was on very rarely. It sounds nice, performs nicely, and I prefer it over the Injen as it includes the dryflow filter, and i've never been a fan of switchable intakes (cold air to ram air). If I wanted a ram air, I would've bought a ram air. And i've heard multiple people getting CEL's from the Injen, as well as the Fujita. Point is, there are no direct applications for our 2.4s.....all the cai's are designed for 2.2s, and no matter which one you choose, theres a chance for a CEL. Really, it all depends on which brand you prefer and how much your willing to pay. My AEM has caused me no problems, and I stand by it 100%.

Whats odd is, the GMPP intake for the 2.2 is the EXACT same as the one for the 2.4
Maybe I'm missing something here, but if the GMPP works on both engines, I can't see a problem with the AEM.

Coors, believe me, there won't be any problems. Even if you CEL comes on b/c of it, it will only be for brief periods of time, and it won't effect your performance. I have an AEM cai and a cat-less downpipe, both of which are known to throw CEL's, and even with my CEL on 24/7, I don't believe my car is running super poorly. Granted, once I get rid of the CEL's and tune everything in to optimize my parts it'll run better, but you'll be fine man. AEM makes nice stuff. Always has, always will, and I stand by them.

How about not worring about throwing any cel's and get a gmpp intake. Dont really have to worry about much at all, plus its designed for both the 2.2 and 2.4. I like to keep it GM if at all possible. Piece of mind i guess.
