Shaving the trunk lock

So im thinkin abot shaving the trunk lock. anyone do this or a how too. and is the color mathced paint from Gm really spot on or just "looks ok"

well if you shave off your lock you might as well get the whole trunk re-painted so it doesnt look like crap

You want a how to on shaving a trunk lock? Its not really a DIY thing unless you can weld. And if you could weld i don't think you'd need a how to in the first place.

you COULD use bondo, but welding is much more professional

I shaved my trunk of my lock and wing/wing holes. once they took the lock out, there was a pretty large hole that needed to be welded closed with a piece of sheet metal cut to fit the hole. to do this right you would want to have a proffesional body shop do this. Also, since they will we welding/filling/sanding the trunk area, it would be in your absolute best interest to have the whole trunk re-painted. I have a thread of some progress from my trunk shave. let me see if i can find it.
