Warrenty Question
Warrenty Question
The dealer near my house OLD MILL Pontiac Buick offers a 10 year / 160,000km no charge warranty on powertrain with the purchase of any car new or used off the lot. It also incluedes free oil changes for the life of the car.
Can this be a vailid warrenty or a marketing gimic?
Thanks

It's probably the extended warranty that most GM dealers offer for a price. Our dealership offers 2 different kinds of extended warranty. The GMPP warranty and MBPI. Both have what they call the extended powertrain warranty. You can purchase it and extend your regular powertrain warranty up to that range your talking about.
I've seen some dealers offer it automatically to try and lure you in to buy the car. Watch out though because most actually add that to the price of the car. Same with Document Fees. Our dealership doesn't add document fees to the paperwork either. That's another way of the dealership to make money. It doesn't cost the place anything to fill out those papers. They get their money in the financing part and the profit of the selling.
