First long run of the year

Made a trip down to Edmonton this week, running a mix of 104 and 91, which is all that is available here. 480 km (~290 miles for the Americans among us) in a nice 4 hours 45 minutes, still on winter tires. 8.1l/100km (2.09G/64miles or just under 30.60mpg) with all the mods I have in it.

On the way back up with the summer tires, running 104 and 94, 430km in 2 hours 40 minutes. 13.7l/100km (3.54/64miles or 18.08mpg) which makes me very happy. Looks like the tunje that I got when I had the work done is doing good for the conditions here.

Temp readings are a bit of a concern, even with temperatures around 7 degrees C the engine temp was just over 94 degrees which was the max temp I had last year in summer before getting any mods done, kind of concerned that I may be a little low on cooling this summer.

Anyone else in Western CA had a chance to take a modified SS/SC on a long distance run? Anything pop up in the way of numbers you did not expect?

I hope they twin it in the future. Have to either go early in the morning or late at night or you're passing thousands of cars on the way.

And me drunk?? no thanks I get my kicks off of driving fast in Red Hole (Red Deer).. I ask the questions and I make no sense?? By the way do you have ur summers on now as I saw a red S/C 2day but I was traveling pretty fast so I didn't notice your sat antenna? I might go out tonight (Saturday) to cruize if it doesn't snow..

Sorry I don't mean to highjack this thread

SK, I want to hear more of how your car runs now that your roads have thawed out. Have you been to a dyno or have you had a chance to race anything significant yet????

172 km/h avg speed (115mph) on the return trip, there are 4 places where you are cut down to like 20, a school/playground zone about halfway, two right hand stop sign turns south of that and a final one about 15 miles from the end. On the trip back there was almost no traffic, I left early in the morning, and only passed 12 or 13 vehicles on my side, maybe the same on the other side. Never saw a single RCMP (our state type police) except going the other way in the school/playground zone.

I have the original dyno when the car was fresh off the hoist in ON. 327 on stock gas with no breakin. Not sure what I would be getting now that it has had a chance to smooth out, and with the better gas, maybe another 8 to 10hp?

No races on courses but I have tried on a couple of modded WRX that like to race up here, and really suprised a saleen mustang for about 5 seconds, then RWD 500+hp took over.

Thats not too bad. The best i've done is Moosomin to hinton in 12 hours, at 130 Kph steady. From Saskatoon to Edmonton in 5 hours, it's just that stretch of highway 16 between Lloyd and North Battleford that slows me down. Usually i travel arounds 130 Kph on the highway,, (with the Caprice) only about 120 with the Cobalt...
