GMPP 2.4L Ecotec Turbo.
GMPP 2.4L Ecotec Turbo.
Ok, well..sorta, this isnt meant to be another turbo thread, but it kinda is.
I was looking at a GM site, and they had a comparison between the GXP Solstice and the Drift Solstice...
http://tunersource.gmblogs.com/Drift...Specifications
The Drift solstice is 500hp on the 2.4L ecotec.
Something to look forward too I guess

Yeah but the car runs on ethenol and its 85 i think it said. there isnt to many ethenol stations yet. but 500 hp not bad. but seems abit i dont know not for me. now i could get a turbo job for my 2.4 balt thatd be awsome. only need another 5k to do it right lol.

drag 'balt was 700+ on the 2.2.... anything's possible as long as the block can hold it. if that was 500 on stock internals it'd be impressive, but yeah... doubtful.
oh, and e85 = 105-110 octane... FTW. now if they only came out w/ a conversion kit ......

the part that may suggest gm isnt capable of tuning their own stock ecm is the fact that they used an hks engine control system with a custom fuel map...but i dont know mmuch when it comes to tuning so i could and probably am be wrong
The Cobalt stage kit tuning was a result of a collaboration with Lotus engineering as well. Probably saves GM quite a bit of money to outsource tuning R&D to outside companies.
I love the fact that E85 is about 110 octane
Just wish they sold it at gas stations!
We could definitely benefit from something of that nature. I've always wondered if the solstice turbo would swap. Which turbo do they use?
Your better off buying a Garrett Turbo kit, which has been known to work on a 2.4L Automatic.
It is known to physically fit. It hasn't worked yet (tune issues). I do like the way they go over the engine rather than around and over the tranny like Alpine and Hahn's one-off. This eliminates the manual-only problem.
