I do a paper delivery route 3 times a week, so my laser blue beauty gets pretty dirty by the end of the week. I make it a habit to drive through the laserwash (brushless autowash) at least once a week, sometimes twice. Then I hand wash probably once a month.

How often do you guys wash your car? I live right next to the ocean too, so I'm sure it's super important to wash often. Is twice a week too much?

Also, is premium gasoline ever the wrong decision? Aside from financially. I want to switch from regular to premium if it won't hurt anything. I have a 2.2L LS.

I wax it once every week or two (depending on how dirty it gets), and give it a since every 2-3 days.

 

every weekend... even in the snow and rain.

 

LOL not very often. Touchless whenever it's been driven in the salt for a good undercarriage wash and maybe once or twice a month in the summer.

As for premium gas....meh. With the 2.2 computer, I doubt you'll notice a difference. You can only gain in performance what the computer will allow. That's the best way I can put it. The computer in the 2.2 is designed to work with 87, so while you MIGHT see a gain from putting 93 in, it's probably not going to be a whole lot of difference. Why not try mid-grade 89 for a few tanks, see how she runs. If you notice a difference, try 93.

 

I have actually heard 93 in the 2.2 is detrimental to performance.

I wash mine about once a month.

I Wash About 2-3 Times A Weeek And Wax Once Every Week Or 2... But In The Spring I Do A Full 8 Hour Detail.. Which I Did The Other Day.. Nice Claybar/polish/wax... Then I Do My Normal Washes Usually Monday Wensday An Friday... An When I Wax Its Usally On The Friday So I Have The Weekend To Show It Off... Then I Clean In Inside Once A Week... Im A Little **** About Cars Lol

its odd you say that cause i filled up on premium once and my car felt slower, i just chalked it up to my anxiety.

 

Yep. It has something to do with the fuel detonating too early I believe.

 

i wash mine 3 times a week with meguiars nxt and i wax it 2 times a month and i detail 4 times a week just to be clean.....

 

I wash mine with the The Mr.Clean Auto Wash once a week, Hand Wash Once a month.

I noticed a difference in mine switching to Shell Premium

 

if i were to wash my car twice a week, i'd want to get paid somehow.. its already an 8 hour job to wash that little pig.. i spend an hour per wheel cleaning.. the rest is in the details...

 

as far as the gas, use regular. you're not really seeing any difference at all by using 93.

as far as the car, i wash it when i get a chance. i have weird hours, so dont' get to do it as often as i like, but fridays i leave early. now that it's getting nice out i'll probably start doing it every friday.

Not as motivated as the rest of y'all but I'll take it to the wash once a month and wax it every three.

 

wow... if you're serious about 6 or 7 times a day, all you're doing is stripping your clear coat. i wouldnt' do that so much.

nah but as far as living by the beach i would look into getting it undercoated. i had that done on some of my previous cars and it make a world of difference. no salt corrosion(cause even if you don't drive through the salty water ever it is in the air more so then if your inland) and it gets rid of some road noise. i lived in va beach growing up and on some of the same cars as i drove without it you could tell a difference under the car.

i spray it down 2-3 times a week this time of year(pollen bleh) but normally i hand wash the whip every week... normally on Friday after work and b4 the local car meet

 

Once a week... unless its raining or something... if I've got a show it'll get washed before the show... then again later for the "regular" weekly washing. I always wash by hand... I have one microfiber mit for the paintwork... and one for the wheelwells and wheels/tires. I'll wax it every other month in the summer... and put two good coats on before winter comes.
