GMPP Intake

I installed my GMPP intake last night, a very easy install. I don't know about HP gains, but it sounds mean.

I got a really good deal on the intake. Picked it up in the classified section from a forum member, NIB $170/shipped.

mmhh...Most GMPP are good if you a big fan of the warrenty...just because they keep under the warrenty...but if you can give a rat's ass about warrenty then you should get someting else...or so iv heard

Gains are about 2hp. Someone on here tested it on a dyno I believe.

I'm looking into that gmpp intake too. I like that you say it sounds good but do you feel any kinda added torque or hp gain at all....? Even at higher rpm?

hey was jus wondering if your cobalt came with those lower grilles for the fogs. and if they didn't were they hard to put in? and also are your fogs hid and were those hard to put in ...thanx
I really haven't ran the car hard to see any performance gains.

No, my car doesn't have the lower grills for the fog lights.

You should only see a gain in the high RPMs because thats where the stock air box reaches its limit on airflow.

If I am not mistaken, this also applies to an exhaust.

2 HP?!?!? WTF! Try about 12HP! Lewis has it on his car and has the dyno results to proove it! 2hp

Lets just say between this intake the GMPP manifold the injector swap and Steves tune the 2.0 SC guys no longer run away from me like they once did.

Heres a link to his dyno thread.https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-4l-le5-performance-tech-46/gmpp-intake-dyno-numbers-47695/

HOLY CRAP!

If I could get 42-45 mpg, I would have bought one 9 months ago.

If you are not kidding please tell us before and after.

My 5spd ECO powered Cavi with an Injen intake, Pacesetter header and custom exhaust got around 42 mpg on the highway with the cruise on.

That would be me (click on link in sig). However, if you make it ram air by adding a scoop or using the RKSport hood, there's closer to 10 HP in there.

Well, you have to give the scoop SOME credit! (Actually, most of the credit, really).

I drove my car the same 40 mile trip before and after the intake. Before 33 mpg, after 34.5 mpg. To me that is too close to to claim a mpg benifit from the GMPP intake. Oh, before the 17" wheels I averaged 36 mpg on that trip.
