Car just doesnt seem to kick me back in the seat after NGK plug install
Car just doesnt seem to kick me back in the seat after NGK plug install
is it just my imagination??? im still boosting the same... mods are in my sig...
Maybe i was overexpecting the performance of the plugs to be great..
However the smoothness of the acceleration has increased ALOT.... could that be the reason why it doesnt "feel" as fast as it did before?
Mods in sig.... NGK BRK7e plugs gapped at .045

Posted on Cobalt-Addiction.com from the Intense/CobaltSS forum;
.045" for stock pulley
.045" for 3.10" to 3.0"
.040" for 3.0"- 2.9" to 2.80"
.035 for 2.70" - 2.50" (2.5" is approx 21 psi of boost.)
Two things:
1. Your plugs may have came gapped slightly to big (not likely)
or
2. Your supercharger is asking you for a better cooling solution.
The bigger the gap you can get away with, the better. Try regapping to .040" (No smaller) and see how it feels. If you gap down to .035" and don't really need to you are just shrinking the flame nucleus in the spark. The higher the cylinder heat/pressure the more resistance your ignition must overcome to jump the gap. If regapping to .040" does not help, you may want to record intake air temp and possibly monitor your exhaust gas temps/ content to see what's going on in there.

rock on
well it turns out that i had them gapped at 40 to begin with...
it was 66* out today and maybe it was because i driving the whole time and then punched it.... like any supercharged car, it runs better at night..
just floored it now and it pulled hard like usual..
Guess its just like my grand prix.. slower during the daytime
(more heat)
