60#s in w/safe tune!!!`

SScartuning and I put the new flow matched 60s in the car today up at my shop and finally got a safe tune on it until my wideband arrives

we are running a safe tune thats for a 2.6 pulley (i have 2.8w/mods) so its dialed pretty high

the redline is like7500 now so its pretty peppy up top

BTW the tune on the car with the 2.6 made 304whp

JUT AN UPDATE

He's from the DFW area.

So Vaughn, what were your times at the track, and what did you run against? I'm with everyone else, what kind of internal mods do you have to make sure the ecotec don't go kablooey? I remember reading somewhere that the LSJs' internals are only good for about 280 hp before stuff starts breaking. Let us know. Oh and don't kill your clutch with your new powah!

didnt mean to confuse
the safe tune im using is from a car(not mine i wish) w/2.6,HE, dp, I/H/E nocat, that dynoed 304(tuned by SScarTuning)

im running his badass 2.6 tune with my 2.8 to play it safe with the AF until my wideband get here this week

MY CAR feels crazy strong and pulls much nicer now that we gave it more fuel and made it move more air

ported TB FTW is ****

current mods are flowmatched 60#s, Dual pass B, 2.8/stg2 belt, ported TB, injen CAI, SScartuning tune, copper -1 plugs and traction mods

will dyno when wideband is showing good AF

Just putting my 2 cents here. The car that made 304 was Shenty Roberts car. I don't know if anyone on here knows him but he is from Oklahoma. That car has a intake, header, catless, 3 inch catback, heat exchanger, 2 step colder plugs, a 2.6 with 60 pound injectors. It also has a huge coolant tank. The torque numbers were in the crapper but I think that is because of his 3 inch catback. 304/241. Now that I think about it....I bet is clutch was slipping and not holding the torque. His car was insane though. He wouldn't let me torque limit first and second gear so his car was a tire spinning fury. He asked me not to post about it....but the cat is out of the bag.

I don't have the dyno sheet. So don't ask me to post it. I don't have a dyno at the shop so unfortunately until business takes off I rent dyno time from local shops.

Luckily I know several folks around town with dynos

And I ran Vaughn's car out to the fuel cut off to trying to make it knock and it had 0 knock. He has more than enough fuel to run it up that high....although I wouldn't push it past 7000 because the power really falls off before 7000

TX has better weather for power!

and yes i dont take it to 7.5K every time, i shift at about 6.8-7.0K, but its comforting to know destruction doesnt happen if a shift is missed

also torque limiting in first is great, you can hear the bypass valve venting boost in first to maintain traction
