I've recently come accross some extra cash, and figured I might as well mod my cobalt.
(sup over-time payout)

This is a basic list of what I'm looking into getting...
I haven't really looked huge into modding cobalts, so let me know if I've made any mistakes.
I think I have the larger portions covered.

Thats quite the shopping list! Very nice!

BTW, it couldn't hurt to get axles and tranny mounts either!

stay away from intense, if you get their header plan on drilling the holes out to fit and their tunes suck!

Hmmm, would the C-A stage 3 or 4 kit be better?
Only problem with those is that I have to ship my ECU to them and wait for it to come back :<

I want 3" from front to back, and haven't found another header that has a 3" collector...unless there is a different one?

Going down into a 2 1/4" collector then up to a 3" exhaust is partially decreasing the effects of the 3" downpipe/catback, is it not?

you will probably want to look into cooling mods. Dual pass end plate and a Cobra or Cobalt Addiction front mount heat exhanger.

if you have that kind of money go with the jbp vortex header, the also have a 3" catback and a 3" intake. the web site "SAYS" that alone will add about 31whp. but the header looks sick!!

If you modify to the extent at which it look like you plan on you definately need to forget about the Ingalls TD. Go with solid engine and tranny mounts; you should also get axles.

Yeah, a 2.25 collector would seriously restrict you from getting to where it looks like you want to go. This is the part in the system where the gases are travelling with the greatest velocity, so any restriction at this point will really attenuate your performance. At the very least, get one with a 2.5" collector.

BTW, don't feel restricted into buying stage kits from a company. If you have access to someone who is proficient at tuning, you can make your own kit by buying a smaller pulley, bigger injectors, and getting it custom tuned.

God damn son! How much overtime did you work!?
I would say go with ZZP's header/downpipe if you have to have one right now. If you can wait a little bit, look up clear image headers. They are putting together a sweet lookin tri-y header...
Intense, I would say stay away. If you arent going GMPP with your stage kit, you are better off building your own (injectors, pulley, dual pass intercooler, etc etc) and getting it custom dyno tuned. I would also suggest a wideband (the innovate one is the one I will get sometime in the future) if you are going to do any serious modding.

Do your homework on the clutch, I cant ever keep straight which ones are good and which ones are crap.

Other than that, looks like a good list. As stated earlier, look into some axels.

There are better stage kits with better tunes than intense. If you have that kind of money to spend, IMO, I would stay with a larger pulley, like a 2.7 and port the charger and get a custom tune. Along with cooling mods. Maybe a cam as well. Thats just how I would do it. And, as mentions above, jbp Vortex header..

not a bad list , but as stated I would stay away from the Intense stage tunes... buy parts and find a competent tuning shop to tune your car, three inch exhaust is a bit too big for your setup... corsa would be a good choice since that's the best sounding one I've heard so far. Also Cobalt-Addictions new 3" collector header should be available in a weel or so (I'll be testing that one out so I'll let you know how that goes) new redisign to take care of any fitment issues, better collector... and 3" outlet.
Definately get axles and mounts though.... your tranny will love you for it.

An upgraded set of axles and another motor because you are going to blow that one up very soon with that set-up.

not so true... if properly tuned and monitored it will last,. I have over 20k miles on my car and have been running a 2.5 pulley for 15,000 of those miles.. did a leak down test a few weeks ago and all was good... no burning oil, no anything... cept for shattered axles

Do the GM stage kit rather then the Intense one.
You can't get the Eibach sway bar set yet, they haven't physically been made.
Use a solid engine mount instead of the torque damper.
Don't buy a pulley removal tool if you are only going to use it once. Try to borrow one, or just have a shop put it on for you. That would still be cheaper.
Vibrant is kind of a cheap exhaust.
Get a wideband.

i would stay away from any canned tuned and get a custom tune and buy the 2.5" and 60's seperately. these cars are way too sensetive. i dono how far TAG is away from u but check that out

also intense control arm bushings, and some sort of mounts bc the stock ones blow, and wheel hop is a bitch

the gm stage kit with (the smallest) a 2.9" is a lot different than a 2.5" tuned
