I would say you should get a wideband gauge if you do go to 2.9, and watch closely. An interceptor gauge is in the cards as well so that you can monitor knock. I've heard you're safe @ 2.9" but I would get monitoring to be safe...

Might also be a good idea to look into some cooling mods, dual pass to name one
