Brought my car to the dealer for some minor warrenty work... and suprise suprise they call me and tell me that they are going to keep the car all weekend. They pulled it into the shop and realized it had no brake lights!

you mean they weren't working, or they weren't there?? i would think you wouldhave noticed if there was 2 empty holes where they go? i'm guessing you mean there was no bulbs in them? that's weird... good thing you didn't get stopped!

Maybe I should have worded that differenty. I do physically have break lights but they just arent working. Dealer says electrical problem.

Bad bulbs, bad brake switch, blown fuse(s)/relay, bad socket (highly unlikely). Pretty easy to fix unless the sockets are fried. IF that's the case then the car gets a new set-up of wiring harnesses and I can tell you form managing a collision center, those are a bitch.

Make sure the key is on or only the hm brake light works. You need the key on to make the l and r brake lights work. They run through the BCM and the ignition has to be on to power it up.

I know this sounds stupid BUT make sure the car is on then try your brake lights! I thought my brake lights were bad because my friend at work said they werent working only the 3rd brake light was. BUT it was because my car was off and I was just sitting in it resting my foot on the brake. After I got in my trunk and checked the wiring and checked all the fuses I was goin to pull my car out of the garage and they were working....I felt pretty dumb but how weird is that? Why wouldn't they work just cause the car isn't on?! lol
