Ice water reservoir, alternative cooling?

so ive heard of supercharged vehicles with a ice water injector reservoir to their heat exchangers. this supposedly makes the HE 100% efficeint because without it its only around >70%, due to the fact that the water coming from the HE to the intercooler is never ambient but instead rather hot. so logistically, a colder flow of water through the HE, means lower IAT2 temps. BUT the downside to this would be its wieght factor.

let me get some ideas

Its nice to have a IC resevoir u can load with ice at the track . On a friend of mines supercharged LT1 , using an air/water IC and loading the tank with ice at the strip , its not uncommon to get IAT's below ambient . The IC tank is in mounted in the hatch out of the hot engine bay .
