Today 5-12-07 at Texas Motor Speedway for $30 you can drive your own car on the track for 3 laps. You can only go as fast as the pace car which is bout 80mph. For an extra $10 they will take your picture in victory lane with your car. It is from 7p-10p tonight. Myself and one other SS will be there. Hope to see some of you out there.

Oh and I managed to get to about 105 up high on the bank and one of our LS1 freaks made it out to about 135 with one hellacious roar. I swear that guy's GTO sounds about like a Winston Cup car. I didn't see any balts out there even though I tried to muster a few from here to go.


Here's a nice photo op..........We actually had close to 20 show up. Would've been nice to take a video of all the GTOs passing from pit row. Oh well, maybe next in the fall.

Bi-yearly. It was a little funny, we got on the track, you hear the GTO V-8s roaring, Corvettes get on, same thing, Mustangs, same thing, then you get these Scion Xbs on it, I swear you could almost hear crickets. Would be interesting to hear what a bunch of Cobalt SS and Saturn Ion Redlines sound like out there with Superchargers whining. They do it once in the spring, and another time in the fall, right after the spring race and right before the fall race. I may consider doing it again just to feel the car going 100 MPHH at a 30-40 degree bank, the G loadings are kinda cool.

 

i didnt get out there until 8:45ish i had a blast though... i got to toy around with an old man in a honda s2k...lol

 

Gotta keep track on when the next one is. We need to get everyone that showed up to the meet a while back to go. 30+ balts all there going around and around would be flippin cool.
And yeah, the whine would kick ass
