does this actually do anything for the car?
just curious, looks like BS, and a total waste of money

player_1 09-27-2005, 10:52 AM try now
Supersleeper 09-27-2005, 11:06 AM Umm thats the weirdest thing i have ever seen lol as far as it doing anything i dont know but i dont really see how it could help its still just a tip but dont quote me im an idiot
WickedSS2005 09-27-2005, 11:27 AM I actually have this on the lancer in my sig. It doesn't really do anything different than anyother muffler, i got it for looks cause it looks stock, but w/ a better tip. And it has a decent low tone. Not much louder than stock, but just a diff tone than stock. Nice lil change from stock, but NOT for performance.
R33P3R007 09-27-2005, 11:31 AM looks stupid. I don't know if it would make amy difference
mcphatty 09-27-2005, 01:07 PM if it was anything worth while, dont you think the big companies would be doing it too?
player_1 09-27-2005, 01:15 PM I' didn't think it would. it'sjust something that confused me when i saw it and wondered what people thought about them.
looks like a complete wast of time lol
beerbaron105 09-28-2005, 12:22 PM youll have a nice quiet exhaust but more piping will not increase horsepower
sslick406 09-28-2005, 01:36 PM I agree. Waste of money IMHO. Horsepower gains come from straight through designs especially on forced induction cars that don't require backpressure. In fact I think you would lose HP w/ that thing!
swatthefly 09-28-2005, 02:21 PM you are runnint the exhause through the same muffler twice. tell me how that is supposed to increase power?
thats the same as having your exhaust run through a muffler and into a second muffler. uhhh, that exactly the opposite of what you would want to do to increase HP.
i agree though, it would give it a lower exhaust note and be quieter, so there would be advantages, just not increases in power.
sorry to bump this
but my buddy in a civic put down more power with this than his with his catback

shouldnt be possible. maybe the catback wasnt done right.

i thought the same thing
he put it on for the torque gains tho
its a honda, so it has no torque whatsoever

ok its possible.... what was the stock diameter? the catback diameter? and the dual loop whatever muffler diameter?

i dunno, its a civic 1.7L
eazyasone23 10-06-2005, 12:18 AM eh i remember working on my focus back way when, that particular car needed some back pressure to actually create more torque. cuz i remember that a 2.5 inch dia. pipe was better than the 3 in dia pipe even though it did have a turbo....
swatthefly 10-06-2005, 12:12 PM that was my thought....
the only way this thing would help is if you needed the backpressure. which would have to mean that you probably had too big of a pipe on the car before.
laserbluels 06-08-2009, 01:16 AM The twin loops are copy's of a muffler first produced by Mugen in japan. Mugen is the be all end all of honda tuners. They WORK. I had one on my 99 SiR and loved it. They flow better than a stock muffler and don't sound like rice. If you bothered to do the research you would have found this. And by the way, Mugen is a very big company in japan, with numerous motorsport titles and trophy's. So the big company's do make them. They don't market them in north america because people are too ignorant.
Man I hate owning a cobalt. I shoulda kept my civic.
