Hi all, I don't post much on this cobalt site but I do visit alot. Anyways I made a post like this trying to see if anyone was anywhere near me and there was some in the state but anywhere close by. I see there are quite a few people from VA on this site and was wondering if anyone was close to the Roanoke/Lynchburg or anywhere in between areas?

Zinner thanks I thought I was alone I have not seen the SS or the SS/SC Cobalts on the road only a few base models. You're not far at all I'm in Chantilly.

I hate living on this side of the state....been almost a year and still only seen 2 other SS's on the road.

kind of like the idea that we have rare cars out there. seems like every 4th car is a cavalier & every 3rd car a mustang.

I'd definately be up for something in Raliegh/Durham over the summer... there is going to be a spring meet on April 29th here in Charlotte if any of y'all VA guys wanna come down.

Hell we're lucky to see each other...I know of three others, since I know the drivers, but I also have seen at least 3-4 more, I keep calling them out, but they aren't on this site I guess.

i know this is an old post to be bringing back but i just saw it and if the red ss/sc with the decals youre talking about has these robotic type decals down the side it belongs to this guy i work with. hes definately a tool.

actually, I just ordered HPTuners, I have a shop that is willing to work with me. I'm licensing all 06 SS's. It should be here soon and I'll have tunes for mild to wild ;) I'm going with a 2.5 and 60lb injectors (gonna get Rob's looney tune), so I'll be on the wild side and others are going for the 2.8-3.0 and 42lb injectors. I'll let you know when it comes in.

well yesterday i was out in about and i have never seen more cobalts on the road then yesterday. i see more sedan cobalts then coupes or s/c. but yesterday they were all over the place, thats both the coupes and sedan, but saddly no s/c, until today. i saw a red s/c pass by, so the weekend cobalt "scouting" is complete!;) .. i have to mention i also saw a ION s/c in the parking lot of my walmart. what caught my eye was the cobalt ss s/c spoiler on it. wasnt sure what i was looking at. then i saw the saturn emblem and figured it out. plus there was a hot girl driving it, should have stopped and say hello

:cussing: well after having my 'bolt for 6 month, i got my 1st dent!!! and its not on my doors either! as some of you guys and gals know i work at walmart. i park my car out in the boonies to avoid getting my car dented up! well yesterday it looks like some asshole back in to the hood of my car!!! yes the HOOD of my car!!!!how the fuck you do that i dont know. the only thing i could come up with is that they were backing out of the parking space and didnt bother looking behind them!!! well to say the least i WAS FUCKING PISSD OFF!!! yesterday the dent looked really bad, but after calming down, it didnt look that bad, but still, it PISSES ME OFF that they would do that shit. figures though.
well i was looking at getting the RK Sport hood anyway. i have an appointment at the dealership so they can give me an estement on the damage of the car. so i ll have to what and see! i took pics of the dent that i ll post later. pics are fine but kind of hard to see the dent because of the reflection!:cussing:

Since most of you guys on here are close to hampton/ Va Beach, I was just wondering...in 3 weeks I'd like to stay 3-4 nights at the beach and wondering what my chances are of finding a room without reservations? Anywhere thats right there on the beach although it doesn't have to be oceanfront...

Ohhh... I get it! Lol... I'm a little slow every now and again -- Here lately I've been going across @ 7:15-7:20ish...

There's a yellow coupe, and a yellow SS/SC (I believe haven't been behind him)..... there's also been a red ss/sc unless you've been up that way once or twice......... :lock:

well i was headed home on the interstate this afternoon. i glanced over at the opposite lane to look @ the cars, and what did i see:confused: a lime green car with a thick red pin stip down the side of the door ( i believe it was red, was sure ) as it passed i noticed its backlights...IT WAS A COBALT!!!!!! i couldnt believe my eyes, not sure if i still do. when i 1st saw the limegreen i thought it was a Neon, then i saw its taillights and yelled cobalt!

like i said, i wasnt sure what i was looking at until i looked back and saw the taillights. then again i was moving @ 70 mph the opposite direction:lol:

has anyone else noticed that all the srt4 drivers (well actually just the 3 that i've seen so far in my cobalt) are assholes? is it just me that they enjoy flipping off? its aggrivating to say the least. i personally think the srt4 is a nice car, but not as nice as mine :D al the same you dont see me being a complete retard to them for not getting a cobalt.

General Poker Run Information:

For those that have not attended a TTE Poker Run this is a driving event. The event will start promtly at 10am at Elite Autosound and Performance. Registration will end at 1130am. This aspect is different. We will not be accepting late participants. You can catch up at later stoping points but will NOT be allowed to enter the poker aspect of the event. When you register half of the fee goes to charity and the other half to the POT. Whoever has the best poker hand at the end of the day wins half that pot. Registration is:

Package 1 is $10 per person. This package includes registration fee, directions to each stop of the Poker Run in order, and special coupons/flyers from each sponsor of the event.

Package 2 is $25 per person. This package includes package 1 along with the TTE Poker Run Commerative T-shirt. This package is limited to 30 as that is the quantity of shirts. So register early via paypal (kylerichardson@email.com). Please email Kyle your forum screen name and best email address for contact after you have sent the money.

HOW TO PLAY:

You will pick a card from a deck at Elite Autosound and Performance upon registering. We will write it on a master sheet. You will then proceed to Stock Or Modified Bodyworks, Dyno Inc, Millennium Autosports, Custom Car Care and finally Bailey's Grille and Tavern. At each location you will pick your 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and finally 6th card. Obviously there is only a need for 5 cards in poker so you have an extra chance to win with 6 stops. Best 5 cards will be used. Each card will be written on a sheet that the shops will already have. These sheets will be faxed back to us at Bailey's at the end of the event (so no cheating can occur). The best poker hand wins 1/2 THE POT OF REGISTRATION! Now additional donations on top of the $10 registration (shirt proceeds go directly to CHKD) will go soley to the CHKD.

The event is not a Cannon Ball Run. So high speed driving is not necessary at this event. This is an event to ultimately raise money for children. This event is away for us to do such a thing and enjoy our cars/friends at the same time. In order to win 1/2 the pot you must visit all shops throughout the day.

This is an event for anybody to participate in. The more the merrier. Bare with us on the day of the event as parking might be an issue depending on how many people participat in this event.

Each shop will be having SPECIAL OFFERS on the day of the event. For SPECIAL OFFER details please call the shops. At the last event the special offers were quite impressive as i am sure some of you already know.

Cops are always in and out of there... makes me nervous... plus we have a local crack whore (no joke - swear to god... maybe I needa picture haha) she walks up and down the highway yelling at people and talking to herself... and of course she walks up and down my street - freaks me the hell out! :cussing:

i'd look at the cop as being maybe a good thing. at least you know he's there, even though sometimes he might not care. my neighborhood is just plain weird. there's a midget walking a great dane outside most of the time on my street, so that's somewhat entertaining. other then that just a bunch of kids i cant trust anymore.

ok but have you seen a red cobalt lt with tinted windows and the cobaltss.net on the side windows? i m sure i ve seen ya zipping the other direction. but what about that orange cobalt out there that has a body kit on it- when i see it its headed to cross the bridge as i m headed to gloucester

BTW- i saw ya hot cherry the other day on my way home. i know you didnt see me because you were paying attention to the cars in front of ya! but if you guys out there are interested, we could set up a met out there one night. we can meet @ the 1st hardees you come too when you get off the bridge, or walmart (because i know where those land mark at are out there:lol: ). i dated a girl out there for a few months. her home was like 1/2 an hour drive once you get off of route 17 ( and remeber i live out in newport news:lol: )

ok guys, another unquie cobalt siting the other morning. i was on my way to work in the morning. pulled up to a light, saw a black cobalt in the turning lane. so all i saw of it was from the back. i had no way to tell what type of cobalt it was. it had at least '19 or '20 rims, was lowered as low can get. had a body kit on it- i would have to look at body kits to I D it. the trunk had shaved totally- except the chevy bow tie- also shaved were the reverse lights! gone! just the bow tie!the body kit was black but it looked like a FLAT black not the gloss black- looked missed match with gloss black of the car. when i first saw the car i was like "cool" a cobalt, then after a moment looking at it is said "ewww"

I was lookin everywhere for balts, saw a few... had an interesting time with an eclipse and a mazda something or another with a dubs sticker on the back - pretty funny... they kept trying to pass me and I'd just speed up, slow down and not let em pass... I love messing with people :lol:

We learned a few lessons about the spring install. :lol: It actually took us longer to figure out how to loosen 1 bolt than it actually took in work....go figure. Glad you like the car. We'll have to go for a run soon. :D

As far as the clutch goes. Your braver than I am. Its listed as an 8 hour job. That I'd bet would take almost the entire weekend. If your doing this at the hobby shop, I'd love to help eventhough its almost worth paying someone $500 for the install.

Actually if I was going to have it done non warranty time my local stealership was going to charge me 100% over 9 hours of labor, so I would have had to pay $78 an hour labor for a total 18 hours of labor and $1482 to have the clutch changed out. That's labor only mind you. And they refused to put on a non GM part. I went to a reputable ASE mechanic and got quoted $600 dollars. But $600 is still quite a big chunk of change. I have a CM FX400 6 puck on the way. Still debating on whether I want to do it myself or pay the money. If I have the mechanic do it I'm taking a week of leave and I ain't doing jack until my car is fixed. The local stealership situation is so bad I'd drive to VA for a good one.

Be careful not to tighten the bolts down too tight. My dumb ass snapped one this week. I now have Grade 8 bolts in my motor mount.

ok guys and gals, how did every one make out in the storm? i lost power twice. a lot of my back roads are flooded-on some backroads you have to drive on the opposite side to avoid the water. I had to be at work (wal*mart) @ 5:30, drove up and the parking lost wa EMPTY!!! yupper my wal*mart was closed due to no power. so what was every one doing inside..cleaning the refrigeraters in the dark. not to apealing to me if you know what i mean. so i came home!

just wondering if its PROPER to honk your horn @ other cobalts? (i did this to hotcherry). on the way home from a no power wal*mart i was on the interstate and passed a follow red cobalt lt with tinted windows.

i made it out okay, but i had to work all day:thumbsdow . i stay in plaza (va bch) and it flooded but my street kept its power. i got lucky with that much.

I had to leave my apartment complex in reverse this morning, it was flooded that bad...I was backing out the entire time behind a guy in my complex that has a large green F-150 waking most of the water out for me
