Stage 2 up grade

i called my dealer up today to get an estimate on a stage 2 install and they didnt even know wat i was talkin about so i had to explain it to them. after i give him all the info he tells me he has to call me back and let me know how much it will cost. about an hour later he calls back tellin me the **** is guna cost 1,000 just for labor. i search the forums to see how much people were gettin charged and im only seeing between 200-300 and im getin charged a grand. i live in central jersey (morristown if any one is familiar) and i need help findin a place where they will do this for a much cheaper price then 1,000. anybody from jersey know of any places i can get this done. thanks

Diy

do it yourself!

it took me and my dad about 3 hours cand we were drinking beer and taking our time.

it is very straight forward then you just have to take it to the dealersship to get the new flash.

my dealership charged me an hour for the service and i made then check my install while we waited .

trust me you can do it yourself.

While you may be able to do it yourself, you may void your warrenty by doing so. I was under the impression that stage kits were to be installed by a GM dealership in order to retain the warrenty.

Thumbs up

Hey guys,
I'm new to the forums ( First time poster ...wooot! )
I am going to pick up my new SS/SC on Tuesday right after the holiday. I am already scouring through threads and reading stickies to brush up on things. I am very interested in the Stage II upgrade. I would definitley do the labor myself, but could someone please tell me how much the dealer is asking for the parts? Pulley, Belt, Injectors ...and lastly taking it back for the tune.

Thanks guys.
Great site you have here and I look forward to staying for quite some time.

ps... I wont create a signature until I actually have the car in the garage...lol

Got mine done at CRANE CHEVY in Clifton. They have Done approx10 of them. They quoted me 4 hours @ $94 an hour. $376... they actually got it done in 3 hours. $282.
Morristown isnt that far to drive from to save $700+/-....HTH..

They installed stage 2, Gmpp extruded and honed manifold and Gmpp performance cat-back in about 5 hours total..............they've done many installs before. Stage 2 was $160.00CAD and the other two were about $200.00CAD. I've got all the picks of the install too but don't know how to post the picks(about 20-30 of them)
They installed stage 2 with the re-flash in about 1.5 hours.
