improvement with gas mileage

Ok so I posted this in the 2.4 section and no answer. So my question comes again, besides making the car faster with a tuning. What about gas mileage I've heard some people get better gas mileage, how much of gain do you get?

If you lean the tune out, you get better mileage. It's probably within 1L/100Km (Sorry, Canadian) or less. However, most people would see the mileage get worse because of increased spirited driving.

I'm getting about 2mpg more running 87 octance as opposed to 91 or higher. I only suppose thats is because my driving is less sprited with lower octane in it. There is a difference in acceleration when I go to 87 octance, minimal, but a bit of a difference. It also could because of more mileage and she is becoming more efficient. Odometer reads about 2400 miles right now

Run the most amount of timing you can at lower airflow values. You can also cut down the delay on closed loop enable values.

A lighter foot is the best mod for a supercharged car when you want better gas mileage.

Intake, exhaust, rid the car of trash, and stay out of it.

dude... please PLEASE at least put in 89 there is a reason your manual recommends 91. personally i get better gas mileage at 91 than i did at 89.

yes you can get better gas mileage but not by much really you'd be better with a CAI for MPG

i ususally ease on the gas, shift around 2500 rpms and ease on the gas so the boost guage aint boosting. I get better gas milage that way. My acceleration is slow, but hey when you make 14k a year and you got a 455 car payment each month you tend to do whatever you can

how did you get a loan, most banks dont like your car payment to be more that 15-20% of your gross monthly income yours is 40%... you must have had a good co-signer.

$14,000/12=$1166 ; $1166/$455= .39 or 39%

yea i also got better gas mileage even knocked down the RPM's (bout 50-100 difference)while traveling same speed also cleaner gas 91 up keeps less deposits out compared with 87 so a longer cleaner burning engine that lasts longer and still gets better and better as u drive and break it in
