Would it help any to drain the Aftercooler coolant and out putting water wetter in there in the mixture? On other forums I have read that there could be a 10* drop in IAT's, is this true?
If you are in an area where freezing is not an issue it would be safe to run water wetter and water. But, in an area where it gets cold that one day where it drops below freezing would cause some nasty problems. Yes it's true it will drop temperatures.
could, but do a test first. take some water in a old cup or something, 25% water. 25% dexcool, take a couple cap fulls of water wetter, drop in the cup.
mix it all together, if it foams up, do NOT put it in the car. found this out the hard way.

Yes! In temps above freezing, pure water and a surfactant would perform alot better.
Plus the the drag strip guys would love you, being that you aren't running glycol.
From my experience with it, my motorcycle runs a million times better with it... at the track and on the street!
Same here , what should guys in the colder climates run for a mix ? I'm not a real big fan of dex-cool since my wifes 05 equinox had to have all its coolant hoses replaced due to the dex-cool eating them from the inside out . Thanks
you can run just water (distilled) and add about 25% water wetter but should still mix in about 15% dexcool b/c water alone will not keep parts lubricated.. Then when the weather starts to change go back to the 50/50 mix with a few cap fulls of wetter.. Mine is now a garage car so i drained it added water, 3/4 bottle of wetter and some dexcool along with cond for internal parts.. Def drops the normal temp like 10-15deg normally..

Water wetter should never be mixed any greater than 5%..... Redline Oil recomends using 1 ounce per quart of cooling fluid, whether it be glycol or distilled water.
You would still run the recommended amount of water wetter in the mix; the big variable is how much water you can get away with using. If you were at 32* and below you should go with a 50/50 mix of water and dexcool and the recommended amount of water wetter.
just do what i am doing hopfully tonight... i am going to be putting on my cobra h/e an i am doing a 25/75 dexcool to water... and adding some wetter.. an then come say the begining of september or so i am going to drain about 3-4 quarts out... maybe even more idk how much it will hold with the cobra h/e on.. an replace it with dexcool... then repeat for the summer again!
i live where the weather gets really cold, good ol canada, i just bought a lil bottle of water wetter to run with the coolant for my dual pass setup,i put the bottle of water wetter in the extra surge tank but there is much more dexcool in there, dont gotta worry about it freezing, im sure it helped a bit, dont have any b4 and after results.
... I think I totally miss read this entire thread... putting water wetter in the aftercooler system will do nothing (or minimal).... Water wetter is only good in situations where the coolant could easily boil.

DEI Rad relief is the same as water wetter.... it's a surfactant, it reduces the surface tension of the water to avoid localized boiling.
DEI Chill Charger is a heat conductor accelerant. It helps the coolant absorb heat at a faster rate, but doesn't stop it from boiling.
Two totally different chemical compounds.

read this. this is from experience with the dei stuff, and the royal purple stuff.
when one cap full is introduced to a 75% water, 25% dexcool mix. BOTH produced a nice off color mixture, and then some foam. the foam NEVER went away.
i had to run 12 gallons of water through the aftercooler system to get rid of the foam, it sucked.

Okay....I wasn't trying to go into the chemistry aspect Doc Brown. I was just saying that they both help to lower the temps. Do you actually have the MSDS for the DEI?
