06 SS/SC Silver at local dealership
06 SS/SC Silver at local dealership
Hello everyone. Just signed up here as I am really considering a SS/SC purchase. My dad has straight a from the factory ordered yellow 06 SS/SC with 1200 miles on it. He don't drive it much but I really kinda fell in love with the car over past year. Well my question is, there's a Silver 06 SS/SC with 18713 miles on it for 17,995. I really quite like it and have talked to the dealer and they already have 1 yes from a bank for me. Anyone have any suggestions. The tires are perfect condition so it either was babied or they put new kickers on the car recently. Gonna test drive it monday June 4th and get a feel for it. Just wondering if anyone had anything to offer. What I should look for things of interest within the first 20k miles that might be red flags? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading and I hope to be a SS/SC owner in the very near future.
Thanks for the responses guys, well the 1 bank ok is basically what we had as of saturday afternoon at closing time which was literally like hour after I first stopped in to find out how much it was and chat with sales. So that 1 bite came literally within 2 hours of them first meeting me. I really like the car it's gorgeous. Already looked up it up online and it came back clean as a whistle no problems nothing reported at all. I really should wait another year and get into better position with my current Grand Am GT as I owe 4500 on it yet with 1 more year to go. 91000 miles so we haven't even assessed it's value yet toward trade in and roll over. I'll find out insurance rates vs my grand am and then go drive it. I'll keep ya posted how it goes. Thanks for the helpful information guys.

That price sounds just a teeny bit high. Assuming it is a 2006, I'd see if I can talk them a grand or two off. It's not a bad price, but.
Also - based on your 'one yes from a bank' I'm assuming you aren't in the best credit position or are new to buying a car. Don't get f*cked on interest rates, even if it means getting a cosigner, if the dealer is trying to get you above 10% you could probably buy a brand new one (if you can find one..) for the same price since banks will often finance lower on a new car.
And I don't know - I'd definitely encourage you to get any information you can about how well it was kept up, serviced, etc. You'll also probably won't to shy away if you see a lot of performance parts installed ... remember you are buying a used peformance car. Take it to your dad's mechanic and have him look at it.
Oh, and the silver paint, I have it on my 2.4 SS, looks awesome but it doesn't hold up the best. I've got tiny chips on my hood and mirrors with only 9,000 miles...
Other than - get a Cobalt, no matter what model or year. They are fantastic little cars, I love mine.
