I'v seen them before, I looked at them for my old z-24. It is a centrifugal supercharger not a roots like ours. Yeah its basically a turbo belt driven and they do have BOV's for them too. I forget the price on them, RSM racing makes one, might be what he has. They had two different stages, they were like 5000-6000 bucks I believe.

lol, thats just a centifrugal supercharger. Haven't you ever read an issue of Sport Compact Car, Super Street, HCI, Import Tuner.........

In nearly every issue theres at least one car using a centifrugal supercharger setup. Vortech and Procharger are the two big names when it comes to these types of superchargers. In fact, theres even a thread in the 2.0 section where someone is trying to make a Procharger kit for the 2.0SS/SC. Centifrugal superchargers have been used on nearly everything...........some popular cars nowdays using them widely are Honda S2000s, Nissan 350Zs/Infinity G35s, Integras/Civics, Mustangs......etc etc.

it's the RSM racing Vortech kit. RSM is pretty much out of business now. They used to sell the same kit for the 2.4LD9 J-Body cars as well but ran into numerous issues with tuning. I have a buddy who has the same exact kit on a 2001 Cavalier and beleive me, it does not stay with a stock Cobalt SS at the 6-8psi he sees. The potential for the kit is decent if you have HPTuners and know how to tune the car for it and add a front mount intercooler though. $1900 seems a bit steep seeing my buddy bought his full kit used on the jbody forums for $1000 about 2 years ago...

It's cheap because there's no tune, I bet. The mechanical bits aren't the issue. There's lots of kits out there that bolt on, fit nice, etc. But no tune, which will kill drivability at the least (I know from experience) or kill your engine DEAD!
