i was reving my enige in break and kinda just held it in and the rev limiter stayed at the 4000 or 4500 rpm and i noticed that my car just shut off lol after sitting there reving it a couple times do u think maybe i stalled the engine after holding the gas in

if it's brand new you prolly hit the rev limiter, i noticed that with mine, if you hold it at a high RPM for awhile the car will turn itself off, and i thought something was wrong but the mechanic told me that it's a safe guard so you dont blow up the engine

Well you have the rev limit (red line) and then you have the fuel shut off limit. You more then likely hit that limit and caused the car to stop fuel delivery to the engine tunring it off.

Well the rev limiter and fuel shut off are there to prevent engine/mechanical damage from abusing the engine....running it at redline while sitting still....not a good thing....and GM probably wouldn't warranty it..

I blew and engine once doing that about 15 yrs ago, but wouldn't do it again.
