Drag Radials?

I'm putting on a Stage 2 kit pretty soon and I'm thinking about picking up some drag radials as well. Just wondering which of you guys has them, about how long they'll last, brands and such, and whether they are worth it. I am going to the track sometime, I do autocross, also I do race people from time to time. Thoughts???

Check out Bridgestone RE070s. Excellent dry pavement grip, and I have 10,000 miles on mine and I can probably get another 4,000 or so miles out of them. They're great tires for dry pavement. I would assume since you're going to auto x you'd get sticky rubber all the way around the car and not just the front tires? Will some Nitto owners check in with their experiences, I hear great things about Nitto tires. BTW my recommendation is based on all 4 tires being the RE070's. I'm sure someone makes a better tire for just running the front 2.

I've got Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials P255/50R16. The work awsome, couldn't beat them! Needless to say after I raced one weekend with them my clutch started slipping under power.

When I raced on Drag radials I broke the stock axles before moving more than say 4 feet. I have engine mount and tranny mounts on the race car, and they still broke. No wheelhop, just massive torque for those poor things.

Needless to say Got Stage 2 axles on it (custom ones about 1/10th the cost of Drive Shop)

Now the clutch slipped like hell, and had to get a custom clutch after that.

Just be careful on DR's. Burnouts are neccisary to make them work well, but are dangerous for your axles and clutch.

What he said.^^^ you will definatly brake an axle with slicks or drag radials. What axle did you brake steve? mine was the l just where it tapers down at the outer joint.

When i was runing drag-radials, i had the nitto nt 555R, on a 16inch sport edition wheel, the tires were descent and the set up worked great, plan on some axles and a new clutch also though.
