My 1st time at a track

Well it wasnt as good as I thought, but at least I beat the SRT next to me twice. Here's my times.
RT: 1.1311
60 ft: 2.3197
330 ft: 6.1959
1/8 ET: 9.2738
1/8 mph: 79.49
1/4 ET: 14.1268
1/4 mph: 101.58

I know I suck off the line, but it should all get better with practice. Let me know what you think.

sounds like you need a better tune as I would think you would trap higher than what you are trapping. Plus, get your 60ft. times down and you'll be in the 13's.

Yeah, even with a crappy 60' time, with that setup I would have guessed you should be trapping at 105 or so. But 2.3 isn't really that horrible for this car. I've seen a lot worse. Keep practicing though. I'm itching to get to the track sometime this summer.

yeah.. im not to sure about my tune ZZP did it when I was in Mi. and it seems like I have no power at all until about 3000 rpm's. Im thinkin I might have to go see a local place here and have it retuned.

Not bad at all for your first time at the track. With your mods and a good tune I think you could hit a 13.3 or so around 109. Give it some more practice and you will get there. A tune would do you well. Also a 2.3 60" is not bad at all. Where are you located?

Close to sea level means good times. Let me give you a little example on my best time. My mods at the time was GMP stage II, Injen CAI, and GMP exhaust. I ran a 13.6 @ 108 at Cecil County, MD. Best 60" time was only like 2.3 or 2.4. So you should be able to run a lower 13 then me since you got a smaller pulley and stuff. Then again it does build up more heat and steal some power. If you don't have it already I would invest in GMP daul pass intercooler set up with the option B another resavor tank. I would also invest in a heat exchanger. With a good tune I see you hitting low 13s consistantly.

That is not a dumb question. If it was your first time at the track I'm sure you did not know all the little tricks. I'll give you a few little tricks most people know who have experiance at the track.

Tire Pressure:

Front Tires: Start out around 27psi. Try to get 2-3 runs with each change to pressure. Weather also can effect tires. Never go to low because it could do you alot more harm then good. Do not go below 20-22psi. The lower the pressure the better traction you will get. I think I ran my best times with around 23psi and it was cold out.

Back Tires: Keep them around 30psi. No need to mess with the back tire pressure inless they are low. Whatever the max psi is for the tire I would almost go to the max psi. If the max is 32psi go to about 30psi. Keep back tires at the same on both sides. This goes for the front tires also. Keep them both at whatever change you made.
Don't forget to put all your tires back to normal pressure when you leave the track.

Reduce Some Weight: Take out backseats, and remove any extra items you do not need in the car. It can really gain you a tenth or two.

Edit Post: I almost forgot, you will be able to tell the best front tire pressure with your 60 foot times. If you notice your 60 foot times were best with a certain front tire pressure that is what you should stick with. Good luck next time, will look forward to hearing about your 13 second car!

Thanks for the input. I heard somebody talkin about it at the track and I thought I should ask before I tried it myself.
