View Full Version : How do i fix this ??? RickZ28 06-13-2007, 05:15 PM My new tires has rubbed while going over a bump in reverse gear. Now the plastic is bend and it's rubbing more often. From that picture it looks like your tire has too much height. Edit: Nevermind; so you are lowered? If the plastic is bent then you should either find a way to prevent that or buy a new wheel liner. calchr2 06-13-2007, 05:46 PM that happened to me while have the stock tire and rim on my car. i didnt really care because it would happen again and again if i took it to the dealer to have fixed. so i let it fall off by itself. to fix it though, theres nothing i think you can do. My tires are slightly higher than the stock ones by 0,36" Coblasts 06-13-2007, 08:01 PM Put a self tapping screw in it to hold it flush, Maybe even two .But there is only plastic to screw to so not to tight. It caught it because it was already sticking out and you probably didnt notice. if its rubbing there i dont think you want to put a screw there, seems like a chance for it to rub some more and shread a tire Coblasts 06-14-2007, 07:17 AM I had the same problem on the front passanger side. if he doesnt put a screw in it to draw it flush ,next time it will get caught and rip it off when reversing.. Mine only hit while turning right and braking rather hard. Once the extra screw is in, the metal where the screw that is already in it can be bent in slightly to give it more clearance. This problem I think is a part design problem. If most people look they will see that theirs is somewhat the same! jlmd 06-14-2007, 07:32 AM drill a small hole through both pieces and rivet them together.
