Front emblem question:

I have an 06 SS and I want to paint or change my front emblem, I am really not digging the gold, can anyone tell me how to go about painting it, step by step and what to use? I was told by one person, nail polish and then a clear coat, but I want to ask the pros! Thanks in advance!

i taped the chrome off with green painters tape carefully. then scuffed the gold part with a scuff pad (or 600 grit sandpaper), wiped it with a dupli-color prep wipe, used a little plastic primer, then gloss black, then clear and let it dry overnight before reinstalling on the car.

^^Follow that how-to, but you can easily take the gold part of the emblem off of the silver part by running a fishing line through the adhesive tape holding the gold part on. Then you use spray paint and follow his how to. That way, you don't have to risk the rest of the paint around the emblem or spend a lot of time carefully taping your whole damn front end.

But one thing, DON'T USE NAIL POLISH! USE SPRAY PAINT AND CLEAR COAT!
