Its pretty much a piggy back right? Therefore useless when stage 1 is released?

it's not useless, they will make a custom program depending on what mods you have done. but would you need one if you had the gm stages done? i'd say probably not.

well i guess any chip at all would be a joke to you then,because it snaps in to intercept or feed the ecu different readings. i can tell you my sct chip in the cougar was no joke.

Actually early GM cars use PROM chips that are inside the ECM. Later GM used flashable ECM's.

Early Fords used the piggyback module and later Fords used a PROM port on the side of the ECM.

A tune will always be better than a piggy back set up.
