Is there a way to removed the seat belt holder from the seat?

 

Yes.
1) Remove the headrests.
2) Pull down hard - the little clips that hold it on will give in eventually (hell mine comes down by itself every few weeks)

 

yes there is. i took mine off. just pop out hour head rest and slide the metal washers down and it come right off. you may have to cut the washers though. but you can get them at a hardware store should you need them again
