depends really, I have beaten a stage one...once. They are fast and depending on your mods and driving, i would say it would be a drivers race.

stock for stock its a drivers race, with the srt4 having a slight edge.

once they start modding it gets worse....the srt4 takes to mods alot better than the cobalt.

thats not to say you cant beat one....but generally once they start modding they go like a sumabitch.

^ Alot of people are right on the money. You know questions like yours are just to in general. You really would have to know everything the SRT-4 has done compared to you. So in general terms in most cases a SRT-4 has a slight advantage inless of course its stock and you have stage II or something. Then the win goes to Balt. Now, on a lighter note our Cobalts do handle better.

Hey Rally with my mods, hopefully you remember them all I told ya, how would I hold up agaisnt a mopar stage 1 and 2 srt-4? I know vs a stock one I can take it but what about with those upgrades? I am not too familiar with their stage kits, just bigger injectors and tuning is all I know of. I think the stage 3 is when a new turbo comes in. Thanks man.

I totally agree but i have no idea what mods he had. It could have been stock and it could have been a stage 2. I'm not even going to try to run one till i get 60's and a 2.8"

I have the mods in my sig plus the stage 3 pulley, ingalls, and the zzp downpipe with a cat. So not much more than a stage 2 really. Yeah I think we can take a stage 1 but 2 I think will be disasterous. Sucks because you can never tell what they have done but I guess again they can't tell what we have either unless you know what you are looking for.

Stock VS Stock = Drivers race SRT4 has a slight edge

Stage One VS Stage One = SRT4

Stage Two VS Stage Two = SRT4

Stage Three VS Stage Three = SRT4

The trend continues as shown above, the SRT4 just responds better to mods. Stock vs stock it is a close race, with 2 equal drivers the SRT4 should edge out the SS/SC. However if you throw the same mods at both cars, the SRT4 is going to come out faster 95% of the time.

An SRT-4 with the stage 3 Mopar kit runs high 12s.

They also have an available option with the stage II that has a 100 octane tune and water intercooler spray which makes 280hp. So yeah, it's pretty much impossible to know how fast one is until either they tell you or you get spanked.

theres a S3, larger TB, larger IC, slicks + 30 shot running 11.3 here at 2500ft altitude....

straight up. once they drop that stock turbo, they are sick.

which is why GM should have given us a friggin blower swap for S3, instead of the junk we got.

I saw a guy who works at a local racing shop run a 12.6 with DRs on his stock turbo. Stage 3 would be absolutely crazy I'm sure.

the srt-4 is more of a dragster /straight line racing car. Stage 3 yields over 320+whp in HOM mode. Itll take a significantly modded ss/sc to keep up with one
the ss/sc is more of a roadcourse /auto-x car.

Not saying you're wrong but it has less to do with that their motor responds better to modifications but it's more about them switching to more efficient compressors and larger flowing compressors. It also does help that they have .4 more liters of displacement but that's not the end all of anything when it comes to forced induction.
