from my personal experiences vs my buddies stock srt4 with 4 races i won twice and he won twice all 40- 125+ pulls , pretty mean car, everyones right tho, they do have a slight edge and stock vs stock is definatly a drivers race. oh and all i got is the gmpp exhaust.

hmmm if u say so, my personal experience has led me to believe otherwise. I drove one when i was down in Boston.

I felt the body roll was too excessive on the srt-4 acr and the steering wasnt as crisp on the acr, almost like i had to fight with it. Then again this is just my experience

ACR is kinda like a special edition though.

I give it props, its a great setup....but me personally, thats not what I consider a stock SRT4

G85 is mechanically just the LSD... What's in the ACR package?

G85 to me is just like buying a sunroof or not.
its an options thats available on every cobalt.

ACR is like a special edition release of the car.

Srt-4 ARE faster, that just it.... No way around it. i wanted a 04-05 srt-4, looked for a loooong time. Couldent find one that wasnt beat, low miles, and a good price. So i got my cobalt ss s/c. I got a killer deal on my car, and its brand-new....

I did find some nice low miles srt-4, but the dealers wanted like 17-18k for them, WTF! I could not justify buyng a car for that much, and the warrenty going out in less then a year, when i could buy the ss s/c new, fully loaded for not much more. But yea i got the ss s/c for a steal 19,9XX.00 out the door, could not pass it up.

But i REALLY wanted a srt-4, they are monsters.

The ACR srt-4 is not = to the ss s/c. Its a limited ed. The the g85 package is not, its a mere option, like a sun-roof, heated seats, xm etc.

Not saying you're wrong but it has less to do with that their motor responds better to modifications but it's more about them switching to more efficient compressors and larger flowing compressors. It also does help that they have .4 more liters of displacement but that's not the end all of anything when it comes to forced induction
Right on man, you know much more about srt4's than I do so I will take your word .

Different octane modes.

youll often see skittle guys talkin about HOM.
which is "high octane mode"
which if i remember, gives them about 30ish WHP from using race fuel.

s3r is a all around turbo(small 16g)...good for 0-60 and also good for top end...but if u were smart enough,u would add an extra 300 bux and buy a .50 trim turbo kit and add 110 octane and u have a 495-510whp srt4 daily driven...of course 0-60 times would suck since u got no traction, but once over 60mph u have ur self a cobra and z06 beater

I have a 2.7 with 60's and I beat a stage 1 by just a fender, srt's are fun to play with because they actually are competition unlike stok 5.0's

that and along witht the fuel button there is a number dial so you can change boost on the fly. and also an intercooler spray button i think. They need to make something like this for the 08 turbo cobalt. (joke).

wat he said, the scroller that goes up and down adusts boost as if u want s1,s2,or s3 power...slect 3 and push the red button and u got s3r,or select 2 and push red button u got s2r..doesnt work with 1..1 is only 1 by it self

hahaha ive got a few friends with modded srt4's they make some silly power but are pretty unreliable. i saw one run on a dyno three times at one sitting and differ in power by almost 50hp... it was odd no one at the shop could figure out what was wrong with it. but the owner did say he was inconsistant at the track also. (he thougt it was his driving) and the other srt-4s there (2 others) were inconsistant also just not as bad as the first persons. idk i guess too many people beat them really badly

5L's scare me because you never know when you're going to run into one that has a twin turbo kit under the hood.

Not always the case. It's hard to hear turbo's over a loud ass exhaust. There's so many things you can do to them.

....

I'm sorry but if you can't hear 2 turbochargers spinning or for the love of god a blow off valve that's going to go off even from the littlest throttle, then there is something wrong.

Also, you're saying it like it's a intake that everyone puts on...how many people in a united states population with a 5.0 (which you don't see too often) do you think has this?

Sorry to get off topic but I just thought the statement was kind of...

I don't know of anyone in the valley that has this done but have seen quite a few at atco back on the east coast when i was at the track.

It's also not just a bolt-on affair. The 5L block can't take much over 450rwhp so most just drop in a 351 and TT it. How many do you think have this across the country? 100? 200? Possibly more. I flirted with the idea for awhile a few years ago but it was too much work.

Check out http://www.turbomustangs.com/ if you want to find out.
