Here lately I have been noticing a weird noise in my exhaust...almost like a misfire, but there has been no check engine lights thrown at all, car seems to run okay....just exhaust pulsing almost....could anybody tell me if this is normal or off?

 

Can nobody at least guide me in the right direction with what could be wrong?

Good point...hopefully somebody will be able to tell me if its normal or if this a problem that I need to look into, I have the airbox mod and figured that I may switch back to the stock filter for now and clean the MAF until I can get a real CAI or something. I am not sure if that is the problem or not...I figured if it was misfiring inside the engine that it w*ould throw at least some sort of code. I'm guessing it could be a vaccum leak possibly not sure though.

 

well i have a idea, it says you have stage II, now i have noticed when people with that modd rev it up alot in a short period of time, they flood the engine with gas, makin a cammed like sound, sort of choking the engine, is that what it sounds like?

 

is it like a pulsing sound when you're cruising at the same RPM, or accelerating slowly?

It's prbably an exhaust leak.

 

actually i dont think it would be an exhaust leak, because when i got my cat-back on from the dealership it had 2 leaks in it, and i had to retighten them down, the only affect it gave me was it sounded louder and the launch was kinda wierd, like stalling feel to it.

 

is it at idle? WOT? Need some more details man.

Every car pulses some at idle.......no idle is 100% perfect. And typically, the more you do engine wise to a car w/o tuning, the idle may get a tad rougher. I have a CEL b/c of my de-cat downpipe, and my idle got a tad rougher b/c of all the mods im rocking. Im sure when I get my Vector ECM tune it'll smooth things out a bit, but even then I doubt the idle will be completely smooth.

If its making this "pulse" at WOT or cruising speeds, then I don't know what to tell ya.

 

No pulse at WOT or cruising, just at idle...I am going to take it to the dealership though and get them to do an in car tech with me to make sure everything is sound...and no I don't think the engine is flooded becaue I hardly ever rev the car up at idle...every morning though I let the car run before I drive it until it warms up....whenever it first starts up it sounds find because it revs to about 1200 i'm guessing this is warm up period to get everything warmer quicker, then after it gets warm the idle settles down and it pulses just a bit....

It ended up being a leak right before the GMPP muffler, I am going to have it welded up very soon...clamps just arn't doing thier job.
