New Cobalt Owner!!!

Hey everyone!

Brand new to the forums here, just bought an '07 SS/SC. I heard rumours that GM was discontinuing the SC model for '08 so I snagged one of the last ones left. I decided to do a lease since I qualified for GMS pricing and they were willing to lease it to me for next to nothing!

I have two quick questions that I couldn't find in the FAQ's... I've never leased a new car before, am I still able to have my dealer throw on a stage 2 package and not void my warranty or violate my lease?

And also, whats the break in proceedure on this car? I'm pushing 900 miles already, is there any certain way that I should be driving it? Like most here, I'm only pushing in 10lbs of boost thus far.

Thanks in advance, and glad to be a part of the forums!!

Don't own an SC but i've read enough posts on hear to help.

I am also leasing. I assume that leasing an SS/SC you have the intent to keep it at the end instead of giving it back. If thats the case... do whatever you want to it. It will be your car in the end.

If the Dealer puts GM parts on your car they should not violate your warranty. How can GM void the GM warranty for installing GM parts.

Break in for the car is just whenever the engine is broken in. Some guys have 1500 miles and dont yet have full boost. others have 4000 without full. some had full boost off the lot.

Congrats on the buy... hope this helped, welcome to the site

Sorry, this is kind of off topic but how are you planning on removing your SAI? There is no way you can do this ... it's like having no arm. Your stuck with it for life, unless of course your planning on installing the new turbo.

My car didn't make full boost until it had 750 miles on it.

Breaking in advice?

Well, with just 500 miles on the odo I ran my car at the drag strip and turned a 14.8@96mph.

Not too bad for only having 10-11 lbs. of boost!
