Windows Too Slow!!!

Hey guys, does anyone have problems with the windows going up too slow? My driver side seems to be ok but when i role both up at the same time, the passenger just barely crawls towards the top. When ever the driver side is up and i let off the button the passenger one speeds up.

Do you think the car battery is too weak or is going bad? Its not a huge problem but it bugs me cos it shouldn move that slow. Ive cleaned it checked for anything in the way but its nothing. Any suggestions? My guess is that the battery is weak and cant run everything plus the windows efficiently. No sound system or extra electronics either!

mine does it too. its not the tint, cuz mine did it before i had my windows tinted and does it now that they are tinted. it might be the battery. at night, when ur lights are on, hit both the window buttons up or down, and u can see the healights kinda dim for a second, and then go back to normal... prolly just the battery, nothing to worry about though, and i dont think its worth going to buy a whole new battery.

My old Neon used to do the same thing. I don't think there is really much we can do about it. It's just one of those American economy car things, haha.

Mine doesn't do it at all. Both windows open and close at exactly the same speed. Also my lights don't dim when I hit the windows.

I'm going to go with battery, alternator, or wiring problems. Go to Autozone or some other parts store and have them test your battery. They'll do it for free. If it is the battery, an Optima Yellow Top will totally take care of the problem for about 5 years.

If it is not the battery, you can check the output on your alternator. A shop can do it or if you know someone with a voltmeter, they can do it. Check it right at the alternator. You should be pushing 14.4v. If you are, check it at the battery with the car running. Still 14.4v, turn on the lights and radio and check again. The voltage should have dropped no more than 5% and be the same at the alt and battery. If at the alternator you get 14.4 and the battery you get less, the wiring problem is between the alt and the battery. If at the alt you get less then 14.4v with the car running and nothing on, the alt is going bad.

Finally, if the battery is good, the alt is good, and the wiring from alt to battery is good, you got a problem in your electrical somewhere. Most likely it will be weak grounding or surging.

A battery/electrical system stabilizer can help. So will an improved grounding system. I would also go through and find all the little grounds you can. disconnect them (with the battery disconnected first!), make sure they are clean and their connecting to bare metal, and reconnect them down tight. Also make sure there is no corrosion on the wires and none of the wires are wearing. Clean or replace as needed with high quality copper wire.

Mine does it as well... always has. They will go down at the same speed... butt going back up... the passenger side is usually 3-5 seconds slower.

Everyone post model years. I got an '07 with no problems. It might be something that just effects 05 and 06's.

YEEHAWW!!! Mine too. 06 with passenger 3-5 seconds behind driver side. I wish cars had downloadable updates like a software program. That would rock.

If I hit the button... and the window moves at a reasonable speed... I'm fine with it.
Better than having to do it by hand.
