I will be going to the track soon. Does anybody have any pointers for launching or shifting? This is my first manual car so bare with me. :)

I was going to ask this a couple days ago but forgot. I have a couple docs that wanna race, along with some of my other co workers. 2 of them have raced before, although I don't know how much they know. I want to make sure to get as good of a time as I can.

I haven't really raced before, but from what I have read you will want to experiment with launch RPMs. Too high and you'll spin and lose time, too low and you'll bog the engine and lose time. Beyond that I don't know. I guess don't mis-shift and good luck.

for a first timer: Ignore the tree, your r/t will suck, but if you only focus on jumping out of the hole on the last yellow, you will burn your tires terribly and kill your 60' time. I would leave the line aggressively, but not hard. After you a few runs of getting to know how your car will launch at that track on that day, then start worrying about the tree lights.

Have fun, that is what it is all about!

Here's a good read for first timers. Some of the info is track specific (i.e. the location of track facilities), but most of it applies to all tracks:

I have been to the track all the time in my old cars, I just can't drive manual that well as far as racing.

this car dont launch high at all, your better off feathering the clutch at like 1500 rpm then getting on it WOT, dumping any higher willl result in smoking first gear lol

Oh and Cvenom you asked me before if I ever raced a blue redline, I have not.
