Another question about calipers

So, I just bought my first car, 2006 Cobalt LT 4 Dr Silver, and I've decided its time to do something to it (I've had it for right at a week). I've decided the calipers look like a inexpensive way for me to get my hands dirty, but I have a few questions. First of all, brushed on paint or spray paint, which is better? Secondly, having a silver car, I don't want to stick out like a sore thumb with red, so I've perty much narrowed it down to either silver or black, leaning heavy on the black, I assume that's going to look the best. And finally, with some limited experience working on cars, is this something that I'll be able to pull off with my novice knowlegde.

Thanks guys,
Joel

um ok, i would say do red, it looks unreal on any car, dont do silver it will look too much like stock and would almost defeat the purpose of painting them, black wouldnt look bad, but i say red is the best choice, as far as hardness, its like a 4 out of 10. i just used the spare-tire-jack and did one wheel at a time, if you have acess to a hydraulic jack use that and do all 4 at once. assuming by your 'novice' knowlegde you will not be taking the calipers off, so use brush paint, local auto stores should sell kits, i bought a 'Duplicolor Caliper painting kit' at Canadian tire for 25 bucks, it comes with more then enough paint, a brush, tape to tape off parts, stir stick, and caliper cleaner. i advise buying a couple extra brushes though. it took me about 2.5 hours if i remember corectly. good luck with it and WELCOME to the site!!, by the way there is a few excellent HOW-TO's in the how to section, just search 'painting calipers'.

honestly red would look the best on your silver as your tails are red also and it would match in that disregard.....Umm if you go to any automotive store you can buy duplicolor caliper paint and it is a brush on paint i would also go buy a set of new brushes to paint it with as the one that comes with the kit falls apart and gets imbedded in the paint....Easy job to do...why would you go with silver?? thats the color of your car and your calipers already and black ehhh to ugly i think
