Snowperformance Meth Injection with knock?!

I just got my snowperformance kit installed on my SS/SC. I also got a front mount heat exchanger installed. I was told that this combination was supposed to eliminate knock? I still get 3.8 - 4.2 degrees under full throttle. Anybody know what could be going on?

Uh, your running way to much timing...? Hate to see what you got before the meth. Are you actually putting meth in, or just water?

Yeah, Intense tunes = **** as far as PE is concerned. Don't know about their spark table.

Is all the kit installed correctly ?

Personnaly, I think you don't have enough exhaust flow and also you're pushing waaaaay too much CFM and boost and heat inside that small motor.

- Your Corsa exhaust is flowing only 410 CFM which is cleary not enough for your current mods, just see the link there :

http://www.corsaperf.com/chevy_cobalt.htm

- It seems like you are running the stock "header" ? If yes, this manifold outlet is roughly 2" diameter (in D-Shape), which flow even less than your exhaust.

- If you run the stock downpipe, it's not better than the stock manifold, it's smallest size is also 2".

- Your stock head is designed to flow up to only 275 BHP (only 230 WHP) or 600 CFM without any loss, so more than that you're causing extra heat.

- You should really get a 3" downpipe (with either a 600 CFM cat or without any cat at all) and run a 3" exhaust to get the most HP at highs RPMs.

- And about your 2,5" pulley, it's too small for the other mods you have. It cause the blower to spin at roughly 17 000 RPM. So for say at only 5 PSI, the Delta temperature caused by the blower is 130 degrees. At 10 PSI, it is 190 degres ! Imagine at 15 or 18 PSI ...

Good luck man !

too much timing, or the kit isn't working.

anything over 25 degree's of total advance is a waste and very hard on the rod bearings.

Too much pulley for your tune. I run 23 degress w/o meth with no knock at all.... Maybe you need a dual pass as well.

From the way it sounds/looks, he just bought the Intense kit and is running just what they gave him. No HPTuners.

Which has been proven to be very bad with a 2.5" pulley.

yes you need a hptune! Ljavy17 runs almost 26-27 degrees of timing with my mods +meth injection (snow performance) and he gets 0 knock from his awesome tuning abilities His car moves out too walks me pretty bad from a dig and expecially from a roll.

Yeah, with my pistons, 2.5", 93 pump, and a 40/60 mix I can squeeze out 23 degrees without knock. I wanna try add more to the mix and see if I can get atleast 25 with these pistons and pulley.

3rd gear pulls are a better way of finding out how good your tune is. especially above 5500.

the bigger load you can put on it without superheating the air, the better the tune will come out to be.
