Cornerweight information for auto-x'ers and road racers
Cornerweight information for auto-x'ers and road racers
Hey guys, I came across this sheet from when I got my car corner weighted if anyone is looking for ways to set up Konis or coilovers for a completely balanced crossweight (you'll be surprised how close it is stock).
Here's some necessary information so you can assess how similar my car is to yours. Slight differences will affect it by a few pounds:
This is for a 2005 SS/SC. Weight was taken with 150lb driver, full interior, and spare/jack in the car. Equipment on the vehicle: 18" wheels and stock tires, DC sports STB, Fujita intake, sunroof, Pioneer sub/speakers, OEM mp3 deck, no G85 package, rear stabilizer bar.
Total vehicle weight with driver: 3049
LF weight - 957lbs
RF weight - 886lbs
LR weight - 613lbs
RR weight - 592lbs
60.4% of the weight is on the front
39.6% of the weight is on the rear
LF -> RR weight = 1549lbs (50.9%)
RF -> LR weight = 1499lbs (49.1%).....yes, it's THAT close to being a perfect 50/50....a mere 27.4 lbs heavy LF->RR.
So if you want to get the car balanced 50/50, you'll want to keep the left front and right rear slightly stiffer than the right front and left rear. I've had a couple people ask me for the info and I just found the sheet today
