Windshield Wipers - am I stupid?!?!

Okay so my wipers are baaaaaad (same ones that came on the car when I bought it over 2 yrs ago!) and I'm planning on getting new ones asap. So today I open my owners manual and I can't find anything about the size of our blades. Am I totally stupid?! Like, I feel dumb for even having to ask this question on the boards! I went to one page in the manual and it said "go to page 5-97 for info about wiper blades" and when I went to that page, there was NOTHING there. I even had someone else look at it too, so I'm pretty sure I'm not just having a blonde moment...

Im pretty sure its 22/17.

If you looking tirerack has the valeo's buy one get one free. so you get a pair for 20 plus shipping.

http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/valeo/ultimate.jsp

Im thinking about getting a pair. my passenger side blade chatters a lot, doesnt matter how hard its raining. but my drivers side is great.

I'm not buying anything until I know what size they need to be. Can anyone confirm the 17/22"?

Autozon and Advance do not carry valeo. Closest thing you will find is Bosch. They start around 17 bucks each. Add tax to that.

In my many trips to walmart I have never seen this style blade. I was hoping they would start carrying the rainx version but I have not seen it yet. These blades are no comparison to your traditional blades.

By all means you can buy the 5 dollar blades. but when they start chattering and annoying the sheet out of you the second week you get them. Then indeed, you get what you pay for.

i believe when you go to an auto parts store... theres a book by the company that makes the blades that lists sizes to the correlating cars....

you can check the online version of this yourself. Both tirerack and autozone.com confirm 22/17. Remember you can always call your dealer tomorrow.

^^^ yeah what he said

its not that hard, just use a specialised wiper length calculator (or tape measure) and measure from one side to the other. Repeat on both sides. write the lengths down so you dont forget them. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Geeez, no need to be mean about it! I'm a chick living in a dorm...a tape measure is not something I have just laying around. (Just for the record, I didn't know you could look it up online.) Thanks tho, now I know at least.

and if you decide to go the walmart route, they have the machines where you can select your car and find out the proper size.

i find if you use a 17" and a 21" they work better.....more of the wiper contacts the window with the 21"....22 is too damn long and they tend to bow out from wind and wear and tear......just my 2 cents.....Later

get the new rainx wiper blades... they are contoured to fit the glass and give EVEN pressure all around.. and ice will NOT stick to them... they are badass.. we carry them at work.

they are not in the yellow cardboard container... they are in a blue/silver container that is clear... they have a protected rubber "sock" that is slid over the actual rubber part of the blade itself. You take that off, and install like regular.

sorry to say your wrong, I have a set just like the one in pic that I bought from walmart, under the weather gard brand name, they fit and work fine, not chatter or lift, even at highway speeds. But yes there are 17 bucks plus taxes. And yes you definatley get what you pay for, but if you really want the best, the frame less whipers canadian tire sells are the way to go.

Must not have seen it. I always look out to see if they have the valeo/rainx/bosch. I have used the bosch Icon's. They are great. I had them in my car for 6 months before I sold it. Should have taken them off i know.

I would take mine off and walk in the store and compare with what I've got, but yeah I guess looking it up online or measuring is a better way... lol.

I can't believe she had the same pair for almost 2 years! You should change them about every 6 months. I recommend April and October just in time for the rainy spring and a new set for the winter. I also use 22 and 18 on mine and change them every 4 months. If you buy the cheap ones and do it every 4 months you will spend about the same as an expensive pair in the course of a year.
