Twin turbo 68 chevelle.

Just thought I would post some pics of this car I am helping build. It is has a 355 sbc with twin 70mm turbos and a blow-thru carb. The motor is 13:1 and runs on c-16. We are still getting the bugs worked out, but on the street it makes around 13 pounds and just killes the tires.

Here is a trip to the track. first time out

This what the intake tube looked like after.

We put a new card on it since the video. The reason the hat blew oww was it lean poped BAD. Sitting in the shop it will hold 13 pounds of boost on the brake and thats with the two step set at 4,000. The converter does not flash till about 5200. He is scared to floor it. We are also going to putn a 50 shout of nitrous to be the intercooler. Maybe

This car went 10.20 at 135 in the 1/4 with a 200 shot. We are hoping to see some low 9s or high 8s

Turboing a carburated car has been done for years, its called a blow through set up. Usually, there is a vacuum referenced line that will activate secondaries on the carb to add fuel only under boost. Sweet ass car by the way!

Well just a little update. We took the chevelle to the local drag strip and tried to run a D/R shoot out. All we could get out of it was a 8.69@119mph in the 1000' We could not figure out why the car slowed down so much. The weekend before that it went 8.14@128. We went out in the first round. We made a few more passes and it keeped slowing down. We thought that the motor was about to let go so we just hung around looking at the motor. The guy that owns the car saw that the distributorwas pointing in the wrong way. So we put a timing light on it and it was at 24 total degrees. Theres the problem. We put it back to 34 and let it bump. Well this time it went 7.83@135. I think that we are going to go ahead and put a a/w intercooler on it. It should drop it to low7s this way and alow the boost to be turned up a little more. Also my buddies 02 ford lightning went 7.83@132 in the 100' to set the EFI record at our local track. Look for the truck to be on pinks all-out on 9-20 it went 10.12@133 in the 1/4.
Here is a video of the chevelle going 8.14

Heres the lighning at pinks all-out and at our local track

Here is a pic of the new carb.
