Roof Leaking... But not at the Sun-roof

Here we go again.

I have water dripping down around the on-star mic, furthermore its driping through the mic and discolered it. Looks like its covered in mold. It also saturated the area around the on-star button.

Now I am concerned that I am going to have mold in my roof liner...

Ohh and as I pulled into the dealership to drop it off, he told me my brake lights weren't working...

WTF!?!

Ohh and to top it off, this stealership is telling me water damage / repairs are not covered under waranty... ??

Is that true? That seems like its B.S. I have had my car in for service, no lie, like 18 times in two years... and I am getting really sick of this.

Thanks,
Rich

Leaking around the xm radio onstar antenna on the roof if you say its not the sunroof.
And as far as I am concerned the water damage they would have to cover under warranty .

the only way I see them not covering it is if you let it go for a while and didn't try to get it fixed and that made the damage worse. My roof was leaking and I had an appointment the next day.

There is a TSB for water leaking from that location. It is absolutely covered under warranty.

There is a link for the TSB, print it out and show it to your dealer. If they give you a hard time just go somewhere else. I had this same problem and my dealer took care of it no questions asked.

TSB's are not covered under warranty if your out of your regular bumper to bumper. Most all or all bulletins are just information for the techs. They are not recalls. So if your out of time or mileage, your prob going to have to pay for it.

Thats what pisses me off, when something happen with a new car that should not of happend and you have to pay for it because you are just out of warranty.
The warranty should be which ever is longest not what comes first.

This is true, however I was assuming he was still under warranty. Only the first batch of cars made is coming up on 3/36 unless he has driven the hell out of it.

And if the sunroof drain line did become disconnected, and you are still under warranty, then that is covered too. Why would it not be?

I have 43k miles on my car. However, due to some earlier issues, I was given a free Major Gaurd warrenty until 90,500 / 2011.

However both the ***** at GM Cust Service HQ and the Service Manager at the Dealership told me I had to pay as my extended warrenty won't cover it.

I suggest you call Major Gaurd and ask them yourself.

I wonder if another dealership could help out. Since you only have 43k then it could be goodwilled. Most dealerships can GoodWill work that is barely out of warranty.

Update: I got the car fixed... paid for it... now its leaking again from the same spot...

They are replacing the sun-roof... and they didn't say if warrenty was covering it...

It better be... I did NOT approve any PAY work for my car.

Anyone got any advice?

They just quoted me $400 to fix these issues.

F* That...

So much for the "Major Gaurd" Extended Warrenty
