finally ordered my gm performance exhaust it will be here by next friday i am pretty damn excited. what do you all who have the performance exhaust think? hows it sound

Any custom shop can do a custom mandrel bent system for 250.... Which i had done. :)

Megan Racing exhaust. Full 2.5+" exhaust for ~$380 MSRP. NGA has/had a group buy going for $315.

Soon as we had ours put on less than a week later its for sale. Better off having a muffler shop do a custom exhaust, cheaper and sound better.

well i purchased mine friday and had it installed saturday morning. I love the deep tone that i have from my car. I have a ss/sc. I love it. Would recommend it.

Guys i am going to buy one of these exhausts, either perf or touring, but i cant figure out which one.

I am an auto, and i dont want to be like a friends civic auto that the sound just keeps going, its so annoying. so would the peformance on an auto be too loud and annoying?

im convinced lol. for the little extra cash you know you are getting something from gm which you know isnt a bs piece that has poor fitment. trust me i went with obx exhaust on my focus and spent 100 bucks just to get it to fit lol

Dealerships really don't care much about cat backs and such, only thing they really care about is if the Cat has been tampered with. Though I would still go with GMPP, holds up well sounds great...plus some of you guys have talked about getting a shop to make you a catback...even though the piping would be bigger going custom over stock does that mean that it would flow better? Got to think about how much piping is used and how its bent....if you do go to a shop to get it done make sure they do mandrel bends and not crushed bends, becuase I know where I live there is nowhere that has a mandarel pipe bender....just my .02 cents.

Why are you giving false information out? If you put a aftermarket cat back on the car it very well COULD void your warnity. I'm not saying instantly you void it. I'm saying some dealers could have a problem with it and void it. From what I understand any after market part on the car and the dealer can be a dick about it. Besides, how can you beat Crate Engine Depot's prices on a GMP backed part? So if you do have a problem with something no questions asked, all GMP = full warnity no issues. Could be a hassle with a differant catback...

Guess my main point is the GMP is a awesome peice in which will be backed 100% without hassle. Can't say the same for non GMP parts.

stiner you need to understand that every little bit of extra hp counts it just makes you that much faster then the other guy

2.25" is good enough. Any bigger it starts to get really damn loud. Not recommended for a daily driver

That was the first two things on my modification list and guess what? It easily netted me 20whp so please tell me that it was a waste of money and I'm an idiot.

What exactly should the first two modifications be then, anyways?

Myself and a friend both have SS/SC's with similar mods. He has the GMPP sport and I have MR exhaust. While we haven't dyno'ed the cars, they both "feel" identical in terms of power. I think the MR and the GMPP even have a similar tone. The big difference is the MR is significantly louder. (It does come with a silencer, though). If you don't mind the extra noise with the silencer out, I would say the MR will give you the best bang for the buck (Cheaper retail and GB going on right now). However, I definitely can't fault the GMPP either.

I have the gmpp performance exhaust and it sounds awesome. Very good deal from crate engine depot.
