It has NOTHING to do with what the material was of his manifold. If he had the strongest aluminum manifold ever made, if there is fuel puddling occurring, there is always the possibility of a strong backfire occurring and causing engine damage like his did.

Strange how people think these this happen because of Nitrous, granted if he was not spraying nirtrous then he would not be spraying fuel too. Imagine this happening in the compresed air of a SC.
