Custom Tinted Taillights

well i was lookin around and saw this thread https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-guide-43/how-custom-tint-your-tail-lights-w-design-so-their-not-illegal-least-ab-68583/
he did a badass job and i was thinking about redoin mine. i have them totally blacked out now and am worried bout getting a ticket.

i am thinking about doin it with a chevy symbol in the middle and under that puttin COBALT. and in the reverse i would put 2.2 so people dont mistake me for a ss/sc.

what yall think

With the symbol and the "Cobalt", wouldn't it look a little busy? I like the custom taillight idea though. Maybe just the chevy symbol?

Just keep it simple, chevy symbol on the tails and nothing on the reverse lights. You couldn't even see the spider on reverse lights in the other thread.

I would say Just the Chevy symbol. The symbol AND the Cobalt would be a little much. I don't think you should put 2.2 in the lights...if someone mistakes you for an ss/sc, who cares?? That's their loss or whatever. Don't over-do the lights.

lol, think it would be my loss. lol a srt4 thought i was a ss/sc and tried to race me. i didnt even look over. lol.

i think im gonna redo em with just the chevy symbol. ill take off the back one and tint over it and get the symbol on the tails and then use paint thinner to get it off and then paint that

Good idea. I think all those customs would be a little much. And personally, I HATE the blacked lights, only because they're so dangerous to ride behind. I can't tell you how many times I've been behind someone with blacked out tails, and almost rear-ended them becauseI couldn't f'ing see that they were braking until it was almost too late.

you know what would look sick is putting SS on the brake lights and using one of those 3rd brake like covers with jus cobalt. so when you brake it will look something like:

COBALT
SS SS

kinda like that

paint thinner would be ok, if you are worried about it, thin it down with a little water and scrub it with a towel, if it does leave a little haze, buy some rubbing compound to buff the haze away, then use a polish (ie maguires swirl free polish) to make it shine like new again. If you do polish the light, which I reccomend anyway, dont for get to clean them extra well with soap and warm water to make sure there is no wax or anything to damper the adhesion. I like reigns idea and agree that you shouldnt make it look too busy.
