First time at the track...Not good.

Okay well me and my friend were supposed to go to the track today in his Prelude. Well the car was having problems so we decided to just be a spectator today, and go up in my Cobalt.

My dad hates cars. Hates racing. Hates mods. Hates loud exhausts. hates everything about them. He bought me the car and I basically lease it from him for 500 a month (includes insurance). He got me the car under a few conditions. 1. No modifications 2. NO RACING whatsoever. Well, so I go without telling him, because he would get pissed I drove hour and a half to get there and hes just kinda gay when it comes to cars. So i am basically illegally at the raceway.

We are watching all the cars and it gets me very pumped. I have never ran at a track, so i decided to pay the 15 bucks and do a couple 1/8 miles.

First run ever way absolutely horrendous ran like a 11.2 just terrible.

Next run did alright and ran a 9.83. Still bad.

Well here come the third run. Get on the line. Do the prestage light goes green and CLUNK. Car is not moving i am WOT in first. First think i think is shitttt clutch slip. Then i see the White smoke come from the engine area. I get out of the car and the guys push it to the parking lot.

Broken axle. The car wont move in gear. Had to call roadside assistance and.......my dad.

Right now it is chillin' at a dealership. and im borrowing my friends CRX.

So yeah, Tonight is the worst night of my life so far, and i will probably never see that car again.

yea man... s2 axles, WAYYY stronger/better than stock, $800. thats nothin man, cost you almost as much to replace with stock axles. then you won't have to worry bout snapping them unless you get like 400+hp lol. as long as you have a job, no worries man!

The track was STICKY AS HELLLLLLLLLLL like your feet stuck to it.

I launched at like 2.3K.... but i just dumped the clutch.

My second run i revved to high and wheel hopped sooooo badly.

weird thing is some of the mechanics there were saying the axle has been broke for longer than that, it just popped out tonight. They could tell i guess from all the splatter or something.

Its not that big of a deal. When you race a car you break stuff suck it up princess. Your dad doesn't approve of cars. I know tons of guys that think cars are for driving to work, picking up the old girl, and getting grub. As long as you live under his roof and he pays for your car thats how it will be. If you get out of his house, get yourself a job, get your own car, then you can do whatever the **** you want with it. If thats not something you can do then don't take your dads car to the track and screw it up with your double clutching and granny shifting =)

Anyways glad you didn't wreck the car and you are okay. Your dad will get over it. One of his gay friends is likely to tell him to relax and get over it.

Dont drop the clutch at all man. You got lucky it was just a axle. Your tranny case could of cracked and leaked fluid everywhere, including your clutch...it could of been worse. Just launch like you were at a light. That works for me the best.
